2007 ML350 w/ full AMG package
ML is here (with pics!)...
Hi all,
So I've now had 1.5 days with my beautiful ML350. The color is phenomenal – everyone at the MB dealer was saying how good it looked.
I've attached some pics (sorry they're pretty terrible) and the color is difficult to capture – it's something that needs to be seen in person to really appreciate the subtleties. So far all is perfect – the only thing that is a bit strange is that the car sometimes pulls to the right – not sure if this is due to the 20" rims. I'll drive it for another week and I'll see if it continues. Either way next week I'm switching to winter tires. Enjoy.

Yeah, I'm thinking about it. I am also looking to get the darker rear light covers that come with the exterior sports package (I didn't opt for it as it came with the full silver grille) – I also want to paint the black front grille the same color as the car, and I'll be hopefully getting a set of 22" HRE 640R's for the summer too – interior painted to match car.

GMBALL> Not yet but I will soon. Its going to be Brabus/Kleemann and I've heard that you can have it done by MB and it won't effect the warranty, that sounds more interesting to me. I will keep you posted. I wonder if there is anyone in this forum who have a powerchip experience with their ML?

A few lessons learned here, i.e. the Euro look is better again:
1) The AMG pack came with the fender flares unlike the US AMG package
2) Also, the grill is the true AMG grill, not the silver one offered in North America
3) Genuine AMG 20s, no 19's crap
3) No roof rails add to the neatness of the car
4) Needless to say, clear headlights
On the other hand:
- Silver lining on door moldings. I personally prefer the "all black" look in the US.
- The vehicle still sits higher than the original ML63, which is rated at some 6.2 inches ground clearance. That's low and aggressive.
- This car did not come with the quad exhausts like Rubensans'...here...https://mbworld.org/forums/m-class-w164/107402-official-w164-m-class-picture-thread.html
In summary, Mercedes continues to amaze me with their inconsistencies from one country to another and lack of sensitivity towards their most important market (the US) despite all the talk about individualization.

No, Dutch, much like myself, you got the yellow crap treatment on the corners, mandated by the Dept of Transportation here in the US. I carefully examined the headlight with some experts and we can dismantle it and remove the yellow piece (the size of an Ipod) but we have to replace it with a clear one, which is nowhere to be found as a stand-alone part. Sucks!!

As an example there a 2 AMG options – the one that is avail. in the US and the one I have – with fender flares and 20" wheels – and it does cost more too.
The black and chrome grill is a result of the "Chrome Package" that we have in Germany – this also adds the chrome strips along the doors and handles as well as the square exhaust tips. The full siver grill comes under the "sports apprearance package", which includes smoked tail lights.
Now, I did inquire into quad exhausts when I ordered the car but there was nothing available. However I did just look at the Mercedes-AMG website and they have updated the accessories catalog with a quad-pipe option that requires a quad-pipe rear bumper. None of this is available from the factory but only as a dealer installed option. Needless to say I have already ask my dealer to get me some quotes!
Also the AMG steering wheel is now available as an option too. Mmm.

I don't think it's a matter of inconsistency, but one of options. Since we don't have the options combined into packages we can choose what we want exactly as we like.

META, thanks for the valuable info. The quad exhaust conversion will require swapping out part of the bumper from what I could see and will involve some paint work. Not worth on a brand new car with new paint. A good paint job that matches/rivals the factory is a very difficult thing to accomplish in reality...just my 2 cents...
