So, about this Pewter color...

I did the search and looked at many ML's with this color. I am contemplating picking up a ML 320 CDI in Pewter from my dealer, which they have available. Just wondering for those who have the color whether after whatever period of ownership, when you look at the car in the sun or at night, do you think that the color is more akin to a greyish or brownish tone (if you could pick only one).

Second question...if you had to pick the color of your vehicle again, would you select Pewter once again?

Thanks.

Don't have it on mine but its a very nice color. Greyish as opposed to brownish.

My E500 looks like a medium silver metallic late in the day and early evening. Its been a easy color to keep looking clean yet shows up well when highly polished.

ML350 Bluetech
I have it on my '05 E320 CDI. After almost 3 years I still love it. It looks more grey in my opinion. I'm getting a ML320 this spring and I would absolutely want the color again other than I have something against getting the same color twice in a row.

Well Pewter is the color of my new ML-350 and frankly I'm not crazy about it. I really wanted Iridium sliver or even black or verde but the only ML with the AMG package was Pewter. The color isn't "bad" but for me it doesn't do it.

I just signed a 27 month lease so it's not too long and the color works well in that it is very easy to keep clean....I think it looks best at night.

Car is great btw!

pewter

i have iridium silver on my ML350, but if i could do it again, i would take pewter. silver is great, but my last car was silver, so i'm sort of sick of it, and pewter catches my eye on the road every time i see it. it's a bit more interesting color than silver. i actually think it looks like a light brown/ beige in the sun, very hard color to describe. oh, and my dealer said silver would be better for resale, but i'm not sure i believe him, and probably wouldn't let it stop me from getting pewter.

I own an ML right now in pewter and have a pewter GL on order. I love the color. Hides dirt very well. Looks more gray than brownish to me.

Owned 13 MB's over 22 years. All colors. My new SL550 50th is Pewter, and I have to say it is my favorite color of them all. Especially nice when the sun is low on the horizon.

2004 C320 pewter/charcoal
Absolutely love the pewter on my car (C320). It's a little over 2 yrs old but when washed it looks brand new. Definitely more greyish in color and at least for my car, it stands out compared to all the silver MB cars out there. Also charcoal interior is a very nice color combination.

Just wanted to say thank you...

...to all of you have replied. I managed to have the dealer pull the vehicle out of the showroom on a bright, but cold Canadian day. In direct sunlight, I had to say I noticed the greyish undertone much more. When a shadow cast across it, I thought I could detect a brownish/beige tinge.

It is truly a deceptive color, much like the carbon black on my M3. I have to try and decide if I am going to purchase this vehicle today, or custom order.

Thank you once again for your help. It has been quite informative thus far.

Pewter is really quite nice on the ML's, my dad test drove one a pewter ml500, very nice in all light. If not pewter, the verdebrook is AMAZING
