I have a strong musty odour from the A/C when I first start. The dealer flushed out the evaporator which improved it temporarily but the smell has come back. Any ideas? The car is less than a year old but also note it is very humid here so the system is on a lot.

Thanks Gordon and Dutch...running the heater seems to help and also storing the vehicle in the garage helps. I will try the MB germicide or maybe just some good old household disinfectant. I assume this is a minor design flaw with the AC system since my BMW doesn't have this issue stored in the same conditions. Oh well....only a few more really humid months until winter...even here.

Thanks for the info! I had exactly the same problem, perhaps due to heavy rainfalls this summer.
Solution: After having turned on the heat on full power for 5 minutes, the odour which came from switching on the AC is now permanantly gone
