Sure there is. I have the hitch and wiring but not the receiver/ballmount yet. I asked from one MB dealer for the ballmount and they said that I need to go to Autozone, Auto Parts, U-haul or similar for it as MB doesn't sell them.

I don't think 08 model differs from other w164 models, aftermarket dealers just are not that fast in updating their car models into catalogs.
Just check from MB dealer there isn't any differences in wiring or chassis between 05 and 08 models and depending on that you can buy/order parts you need.

I have OEM hitch in my ML and as I said in my earlier post, MB doesn't sell the receivers, you need to go to AutoZone or similar to buy that.
So, I see this that there insn't such thing as OEM hitch it's just hardware that hitch dealers sell and MB dealers install them, the only OEM thing is the wiring. Hitch manufacturers sell the hitches to MB dealers and to aftermarket parts dealers, you just end up paying more to MB dealer.

Pre '08 vs. '08 towing capacity W164
One thing may be an issue, the '08's are rated at 7200lbs towing capacity vs. 5000lbs for the earlier W164's. Make sure your trailer hitch can handle what your new beast can haul!
I should be getting my ML320 CDI in a couple of weeks, ordered it from the factory with the trailer hitch.
