As long as you know what you're doing (which I assume you do) and the new pads etc don't do any damage to the car, I don't think it should be an issue...You could always call the service center and see what they say, not 100% sure on this

Since you've a leased vehicle, best to use genuine Mercedes pads.

(It's best if you own the vehicle, too.)

Could just be a faulty sensor. I had that problem on my 2000 ML, kept throwing up the brake light and when I took it in I had a faulty sensor. Have it checked out, to me 14,000 doesn't sound like a lot of miles on a set of brakes unless you been towing something.

if I am not mistaken doesnt Mercedes call for both the brake pads and rotors to be replaced everytime you do a brake job ? I thought this was the case since softer metals are used so the vehicle has superb braking ability. please correct me if i am wrong

Ok just came back from a dealer and let me tell all of you it was the most expensive brake job i ever have done.... Just to replace the brake pads it was $680 bucks which i think its redicilous but it was quick and fast so at leat im happy with that. To all of that think Mercedes changes rotors with every brake job its not true the first time its just brake pads...
