ML350 Packake 0.5?

We just purchased a 2007 ML350 for the wife today. Seems like a very solid and safe car. It's definatly not the most technologically advanced car compared to Acura or Lexus, but we mostly wanted something safe and reliable.

It has the Power Liftgate, and is wired for Bluetooth, but it doesn't have NAV (no dvd slot) and no Backup Cam. I thought the only way to get the power liftgate and bluetooth is to get the Package1 which also includes NAV and Backup Cam? Was there like a Package 0.5?

Here is a picture of it, it came with 20" wheels also:

...off to Ebay now to get that Bluetooth dongle that should have come pre-installed under the dash of a $50K car.

The clincher is if you have a sunroof. From what I remember, Package 1 included the sunroof in 2007. Have Mercedes dealer check the VIN and advise you of the trim level. Nice ride!!

P2 includes the nav. & backup camera on MY07. On MY08 P1 package you get all that stuff.

350911,

That makes sense. I assumed the packages were the same for 06-08.

No, I'm not in CA.

More advanced then Lexus or Acura? You got to be kidding right?

Dont get me wrong, the ML350 is a great car. But if you look at some late model Lexus, Acura, you'll find tons of more advanced features such as:

-Way Better Navigation with Traffic Report, Restaurant Reviews.
-GPS/Solar Climate Controls.
-Seat/Steering that moves back to let you enter the vehicle (my Ford even has this).
-Awesome voice controls (over 800 commands).
-Bluetooth thats actually built into the car so you don't have to buy this huge device for $500 that takes up your whole storage compartment.

My wife loves the ML350 and doesnt really car for all those features, but I just think that a $50K car should at least have all those features included. At least it's less things to go wrong in the future I guess, and maybe that's what MB is also thinking.

I agree with you on the GPS but the rest seems a bit trivial and nitpicky.

Lexus and Acura def have us beat technology-wise when it comes to stereos and nav packages. I'll even add Infiniti and NISSAN to the list. Look at the new Murano interior. Better yet, take a ride in even a lowly RDX w/ tech package and you'll feel like you stepped back into the 90's getting in a new ML. This nav display on an 08 looks nearly identical to the 2003 CL I used to own.

Hopefully Mercedes will finally catch up with the 09 update. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE my ML, but the last girl that sat in my ML commented on how antiquated the radio and nav seemed and that is a bummer to hear after spending alot of cash on the SUV!!!

I agree that the COMAND system in our cars is so antiquated these days. My friend got a Garmin Nuvi and outside of it having a smaller screen, the entire package was so superior to what MB has, all for < $300.
