Looks like a tasteful evolution of the current styling. I especially like the last pic showing the ML63!! Looks mean! Too bad no pics of the new two-tone interior!
Considering that usually the vehicles that are updated look more impressive in person than in pics, I'm guessing the new look will be a hit, but that the current W164's won't look out-dated like the 163's do.

Hmmm... interesting! I just noticed in the autoblog.com post that the dash on photos 9-11 is different than the one on photos 17-18. I wonder if there are going to be two sets of dashes or if someone goofed and posted two photos of the GL instead of the ML! ... oops!

Look at the photos. The dash on the first set looks like the current dash on the ML. The dash on the second set is completely different (not just leather wrapped) and it looks just like the current dash on the GL.

Autoblog has good pics. I've changed my mind on the 63. The lower chrome skidplate (?) on the front and the rear disrupts the smooth lines of the vehicle. Looks like something that belongs on a caddy escalade.
New lights, mirrors, etc....look better though...

I'm very happy to see LED tail lights available. Never understood why this wasn't even available.
Looking at the COMAND, it shows the new interface from the S and C. Although these are pictures of the European versions, I hope we get it here in the US.

CHILLED, F: I think where I might have gotten thrown off is that the current ML-550 (gray interior below) doesn't have the wood trim above the glove compartment like the GL does (tan interior below). It appears the 09 ML-550 is coming with the wood trim ala GL. I love the two tone! :-)
ALEWIFEBP: the Comand that is coming in the 09 ML is the same that is being incorporated into the '09 CLS, SL, and C-Coupe. It's not the same as the S and C as this one doesn't have the knob on the armrest. I've read all the press releases and from what i've been able to deduce, its the same (or very close) software as the C and S but you'll use the knob on the bottom-right to navigate and make selections. Personally, I think it's cr*p! I have the button on my E350 and it's a nightmare to do anything with it. It behoves me that they didn't add a knob one can turn, pull, push, and press like the one on the S and C. Or better, make the whole darn thing touchscreen!

I see what your saying now, they are probably just using the dash from the GL for the ML now as well. Would make sense seeing how they are almost twins inside and the GL already has a leather wrapped dash. The pictures of the ML320-ML350 gray interior don't show the other side to tell if they have wood there as well.

VUNIT, if you don't mind waiting, you definitely should cancel the order and get the 2009 model. Since this is not a brand new body style, dealers won't be charging a premium and you'll end with the refreshed style. IMHO he new telematics alone are worth the wait!

The photoshop of the silver ML is better than the black one which has some lines that are off...like the top of the passenger side fog light.

"Stretched" lights look ok on the ML, however, I don't like what MB is doing with the stretched lights on the '09 SL. Like the round lights better.
Very minor changes, don't think many people will notice the differences.
