Has this Ever Happened to you?

The brake light above the rear window is on and it will not go out. Break light are off but that extra back light on top stays on.

I tried stepping on the brakes. Open and closed the rear door.

I don't know what else to do?

Don't really want to go the the dealer with this but I may have to if it doesn't go away.

Anyone ever experience this?

Thanks

I think in these ML's there is a computer box by the rear hatch called a "SAM". From what I have read in the forum, if this gets wet from a overactive car wash, bad hatch seal etc. then weird things happen. Let the warranty do the job, and hope that your tech doesn't destroy anything else in the process.

I did wash the car twice this weekend. Maybe got Sam a little wet.

I hate bringing the car in because of the reason you mentioned. I have a trust issue with the dealership and try to avoid going there unless it's mandatory.

I planned on bringing it in for an A service next month.

Think it will be alright till then or should I bring it right away?

I'm not trying to be a wise guy, just ignorant.

Anyhow, where's the fuse box?

Thanks

He is right- don't think, go to the dealership. If its SAM you can end up in the middle of the trip with opening/closing trunk, locking/unlocking doors like it happened to me. See 'haunted mercedes' thread I posted here couple monthes ago. And good luck! It is covered under warranty.

Thanks All

The light finally went out this morning but I went ahead and booked an appointment for Saturday anyhow.

I am just about due for my first A service so I'll get them both done this weekend.

Just hope they don't screw anything else up.
