new ML350 Owner

Wife just picked it up tonight.

2008 ML350 19k miles. Think she got a great deal.

Anyways, new owner, lots of questions.

Truck listed on CarMax said it has EVERYTHING, only problem is I don't think it has 1/2 of everthing.

I know we don't have an owners manual, and I'm sure I don't have rain sensing wipers.. no towing package.. no Navigation CD/DVD, but how can I tell if I actually have the navigation system or not? DOes it use the CD player to read the CD, or should I have a seperate DVD reader??

Gots LOTS of questions..

One was already answered. DO I have a W163 of W164??

From late 2005 up, all of them are w164s. GPS will use the DVD drive for the sole purpose of navigation. All of your questions should be answered by the CarMax's salesman, who has the truck at hand, we don't.
Enjoy your new ride.

OOPs, shouldn't have said CarMax, that should have been CarFax.. bought it from a local Ford dealer, who had it listed on CarFax.

I can't find a DVD drive, and I assume it would be behind the radio head where the CD player is, which would mean I don't have Navigation like the ad said it did..

LOVE the ride, but think if the truck doesn't have what they advertised, I should be able to be reimbursed for having to get it added.

I have a 14meg PDF of one. If you PM me with your email address I'll send it to you via one of the file transfer services.

The DVD drive should be on top of the CD drive if it has Navi. If it doesn't, you can add on later by buying a DVD drive on eBay and a antena splitter to put below the left rear back seat. A $400 job.
Enjoy.

Did a search and all I could find was the DVD.. what is it I should be searching for?

I searched ML350 DVD, ML350 Navigation, DVD Drive.. etc.. etc.. NO-Joy

Apparently I got too good a deal.. called the dealer with my issues, and they said bring it back, we'll cancel the deal.

They priced out my trade (2002 Eddie Bauer Explorer, 120 k miles) as an 04, and gave me about 4k too much: $7500, wrote off 5k from the sticker walked away with an 08 19k miles, for about 27k..

Trust me, dealers DO NOT MAKE MISTAKES. The whole pricing out your Explorer as an '04 is a bunch of cr*p! I say, go back, cancel the deal and start over.

Pull both hard drives out, hook them up to a desktop computer, pull the date out of one, and put it into the other... let me know if that helps.

lol uh no... something tells me a desktop computer isn't going to know what to do with a broken mirror single drive. he should build out his server fresh and add the two drives in as another LUN, ie secondary raid 0/1 drive.

he should also learn the difference between an ml350 server and an ml350 suv
