ML450 lease deal
My dealer called me up today to let me know of a new lease deal for 2010 ML450 hybrid. Basically, it is 499 per month for 60 months with unlimited mileage. I forgot the down payment part but it was somewhere between $2,000 - $3,000. I am thinking about buying it as my daily. Think this is a good deal?

Warranty?
I would make sure its fully warrantied for the duration, for both 60 months AND unlimited mileage. I wouldn't drive unlimited miles if it wasn't fully covered by warranty because it will be very expensive to fix.
Can't comment on the numbers - MBUSA is currently advertising $649 for 39 months, $5k down.

Yes, it is covered by the factory warranty for the duration of the lease (with no mileage restriction of course). This means I can drive for 200k miles if I wanted to during the lease period and I am still covered.
I am not sure about the lease term ($$$) either. The biggest selling point for me is this unlimited mileage thing...

I leased a ML 450 for 48 mos in January 2010. It has had severe brake problems (low pedal) requiring redesign of part of braking system (service rep could not explain exactly what part it was) and remanufacturing a new part. Vehicle was in shop for 1 month while waited on new part to come from Germany.
My lease does have a 12 K miles/yr limit and the longest they would give on the 48 or 60 mo lease was 15 K miles per year. Do not believe anything beyond that is available, unless they are trying to unload these vehicles.
By the way, I do get great mileage at 25 MPG in city driving.

i don't know about the vehicle itself but the lease terms seem pretty good. i've seen people on here leasing ML350's for over 700 bucks. more than my car payments for actual ownership which is just plain nuts

This is definitely a legit lease deal from MBF. It is a 60 month term, $499/mo plus your taxes and fee's, with about $5000 due at signing. You are covered under warranty during the entire period (no matter the mileage). It is an awesome lease deal if you drive a lot and need an SUV. Just keep in mind that the ML is being redesigned next year, so this might also be why MBF is doing this.

Purchase option?
For all that have leased the ML Hybrid, can you confirm if you able to purchase at the lease end? If I'm not mistaken (based on previous look), MB did not allow a purchase, you are required to give it back at the end.
In that case (if you happen to put a lot of miles on it), they likely just dispose of them anyway.

Yes, there is not buyout option at the end of the lease term (i.e. the truck will be taken away for a complete destruction) and you do have to sign a paper that says that you will not export the car.
Once again, the deal is 4000 down + 499 per mo for 60 months. There is no mileage limit and the car will be covered by a factory warranty until the end of the lease term.
For someone who drives fair bit, this is a perfect daily. As for me, I am putting a healthy 3000-4000 miles per month

2009 C63 Black on Black
I got it in writing from MBZ Financial
Unlimited mileage + 100K warranty
My Dealer called me the day the program was announced and we looked all over for the color that I wanted (Steel Gray with the Ash interior)
We could only find a Steel Gray ML450 with Cashmere interior and I got it.
So far it's averaging 23 MPG overall and I once got 27.3 on the highway.
I really like it after 2 previous ML's, a 1998 and a 2007
