The photo is from a vehicle I do not own. However I would possibly like to own it, hence I havent an owners manual!!

Thats a good guess, could be. You can look online for the owners manuel in PDF format.

Yes,that will turn off the parktronic system on the vehicle temporarily , after recycling the ignition key it will operate again (on)

Exactly, it will disable the parktronic system. The reason it is there is for days with snow or any debris that may set it off randomly.

Such as anytime you use it in wintery conditions, or get it wet below freezing temps. Then it will beep like crazy and shut itself off if you don't push that button fast enough. The red light will stay on, leaving you with the thought that it's broken and what's it going to cost to fix.

Works perfect when it's warm though.
