2006 ML 500 questions!

Now I'm on the right forum:

Hi guys,

I just bought my first Benz and hope will stay for quite a bit with it.

I want to put a few things on it:

1-Rain guards on windows, cargo trunk cover, trunk cargo mat, so where do I get these things, if anybody knows.

2- Since I bought it used it has one problem: My cluster says for me to check my left turning light signal which is the rear one, though sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, but I wanted to know if I can get the replacement bulb at AutoZone, Auto Parts, NAPA...

3- Also the manual didn't come with, I'd be interested in getting one, if it isn't expensive, I want to know when flush services are due,...

Thanks for the help.

1. I'd check Weathertech for the rain guards & cargo mat. For the cargo cover check some of the MB factory parts dealers online or EBay.
2. You should be able to get a bulb about anywhere. I haven't replaced those rear bulbs yet, not sure how difficult.
3. Check Ebay, dealer will be expensive.

You should be able to download the manual free in PDF from mbusa.com.

The fix for the rear (left tail light or Right), is to remove the housing from the car and have a drop of solder added to where the bulb carrier makes contact. The problem is that the contact area is poor and burns a small crater and causing a poor contact. It's easy to do and see when you remove the housing. MBs fix is a new bulb carrier that has wires that have to be spliced in. I fought this problem for two years before fixing it my self.

I looked at the Benz site, but didn't find the PDF file for the manual, do you know what icon is it under?

Maybe it was just me.

Thanks for the answer me, that may really be the problem, because I changed the bulb and the problem is back again.

You need to go "Owners Online" on www.mbusa.com. I forget if you have to register, but all maintenance and owners manuals can be found there. Also, check out www.alldatadiy.com, its a very inexpensive annual subscription, most of the images and text are right out of the service manual

I tried to do that, but when I put the VIN it asks for the correct zip code from the original owner, I bought mine used.

Any other tip?

Thanks man!
