Timing cover removal - timing skipped?
The slapping at startup is now gone but it now has a fairly audible tick that was not there before. The engine doesn’t seem to run rough. It starts up fairly quick and runs but the ticking makes me think that I somehow messed up the timing, which brings me to the next question. Is there a way to confirm timing without complete disassembly or do I have to remove both valve covers and the timing cover :/.
If so, does anyone have directions on how to remove the timing cover? I could figure it out but it’s always nice to read over something before I get in to deep
. Thanks in advance. I will post of a video of the sound once I’m back at home. yes I know it requires special tools to complete time from scratch. I was more wondering if there is a peep hole I can check through of some sort to atleast get a visual of what is going on inside without a complete disassembly which I will do if I need to!

If the balance shaft shaft is out of time what would be the symptoms? Would it just be a shaky engine? Or does it serve another purpose. Thanks again.

Wasn't it obvious to you that the timing is out of sync & all screwed up?

Again, did you even read my posts and my actual questions? Cause you have not answered any of them. I’ll ask them again.
#1 - is there a way to confirm timing Without removing the valve cover so I can atleast get an idea where the cams and balance shaft are in relation to the crank?
#2 - does anyone have a write up of how to remove the timing cover?

. Unfortunately I do not have a advanced scanner I only have the torque app with a Bluetooth obd adapter so I unlikely will by able to see timing with it so I guess I’ll have to manually do it.
