Change Battery with Bigger amper

Edit: Look at this post https://mbworld.org/forums/m-class-w...ml#post8500014
______________

Hello,

I have ML350 4matic 2007 - it has webasto heater (aftermarket) and in my country winter weather conditions are about -25 celcilius. My car parked outside and unfortunatly my battery get empty sometimes. (because when webasto working, fan blower also works about 1hour)
I have also have 110ah varta is good condition.

it's 4cm bigger than 95ah. Can it fit the place? if it fits, Does it cause problems with the battery system of the car? Will it break the alternator/generator? Do I need to make any adjustments with Xentry? Thank You.

Since you have the dimensions why can't you measure if it will fit in the battery box?

I don't want to remove the seat. maybe there is someone on this forum who put 105 amps before. (and I'm sorry, the battery in my hand is 110amp but dimensions are the same with 105amp.)

You do not have to remove the seat. Read highlighted sections in PDF #1.

It's okay to put in a larger amperage battery. But the only thing you'll gain is a slightly longer lifespan. It doesn't pay if the price difference is reasonable.

A battery is charged at a maximum of 10% capacity per hour. The alternator will do this easily.

Some w164 ML are diesels … which come with a larger battery than gasoline ML. There is certainly room for a larger size battery, then. Whether the battery cables are the same—-and reach the posts of the larger battery—is unknown to me.

My ML W164 is Diesel. Use the same 95 A battery. And is not AGM, it's a common baterry. Usually has a lifetime of 3-4 years.

No need to configure anything. Every smart battery charger works in the same way, which is analyzing the voltage (V) of the battery, to know the amount of Amperes it will supply. You can put a 40A or 200A battery and the procedure will be the same.

Hello friends,

I gave my car to dry cleaning yesterday, everything was dismantled and I took the opportunity to replace the battery, but I could not succeed.

95ah battery is 34cm, 110amper is 38cm long.

The distance between the battery fixing screws and the corner is 36 cm. (look 2nd photo)

If I put the battery in this shape, it would stand inclined. And at the same time, I couldn't insert it at an angle, instead, it was necessary to insert it vertically from the top because the area is almost 39-40 cm. (bad english sorry)

Small one is 100ah (95ah), bigger 110ah

Fixing Nuts

Putting vertically also hard.
