04 sl 500, 07 ml 320 cdi
i think there will be a tirerift for the 300 cdi bluetech, while for all the others a smaller size spare tire under the cargo area...as in diesel 250 cdi and 350 cdi
however i guess a standard size spare wheel + tires will be available to be mount on the cargo gate, as is it now... like this one

I think I heard somewhere that there is some safety law/rule that prevents the tire from being mounted on the rear hatch in US models.? Not sure.
from what I know of MB, they probably are going to stick with the prior, and put the adblue where the tire should be.

That would be great. If not, I'll get a space saver spare to throw in the back for trips, along with my usual plug kit and compressor. As long as it doesn't come with runflats I'm happy!

Yes, I am an Int. Manager at an OC MB store. Also I dont know if it has been touched on here but the urea fill will go to the Audi style that will be a second filler tube in the fuel door. Also from what they are telling us (to quote from my VW/Audi days "this is the truth as of today and tomorrow the truth may change") the BTC models will come with all season tires instead of run flats due to the ability to put the spare tire in the back.

The W166 BlueTEC is available with a mini spare wheel, code 690. Standard for Canada, not sure what USA is doing.
