By the time I got home my Avg. mpg was 24. And my "From Start mpg was 27.5" - I think I could make it to 28 mpg if I had more time.

In the United States the BlueTec is rated at 25 mpg highway.
Personally, I am only concerned about my averages. Hitting a high number on the highway every now and then doesn't excite me. I can take my foot off the pedal and get 500 mpg.
The number in the above pictures was my average. I just filled up 30 mins ago today and my average over the life of 22.0 (Used) US gallons was 25.1 mpg. I went a total of 621 miles and I had 2.6 gallons left in my tank. It was a combination of 70% highway and 30% city approx. With an average speed of 43 mph.
If you are waiting on a BlueTec I would expect you to get better mpg overall.
Obviously, I am not driving like a bat outta hell, I am being easy on the pedal. I am usually not in a rush to get to place to place. What ever the speed limit is posted I usually travel at the regulated speed. Nothing more nothing less.
