Slight Interior Mod's - Door Lock Pins and Emergency Brake Pedal

I went to a local dealer a few weeks back for another test drive. As I sat inside of a new ML, and as much as I think MB did a great job on the interior, I was irritated with the cheap looking, 'plasticky' pins used to lock the doors.

Sure, this may be nit-picking but I think MB cut some corners here. I've seen cars costing much less with metal or just nicer looking pins. To each his own though.

Alas, I went on a search on the net' and this is what I found:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DP04-Merceds...#ht_558wt_1163

Thoughts?

Second Mod I found was on a [new] Jeep Grand Cherokee forum for the emergency brake pedal. I'm getting the sports interior (P95) with the silver/rubber studded pedals and this small mod matches perfectly. Ironically, this is a MB part being retro-fitted for a JGC

Well, if anyone ends up doing these, post some pic's.

You won't need the second mod.

Parking brake

Parking/Emergency brake is now electric, which is engaged by pushing a button and disengaged by pulling a button. No pedals.

Pins are nice - better (IMHO) than putting the AMG pins (available from MB) in a non-AMG vehicle!

Thanks. I feel the same way - putting AMG badges, wheels, etc. on non-AMG vehicles. Same with BMW M/non-M cars.

AMG is not a car its an in house design and performace group. All W166 ML in Canada have the AMG style pk as do 550s AMG pins or peddles are a design feature. Not a poser phoney game. A fake 63 etc or AMG chrome trunk marking? Differant story

I don't disagree with you on those examples you cite. But my personal preference is to not put the AMG brand on a non-AMG vehicle (I define an AMG vehicle as an M-B vehicle shipped to AMG for completion). My '12 ML has the studded pedals, and sport steering wheel (no dinamica, though), but no AMG branding whatsoever, which is the way I think it should be. It's just a personal thing, I'm also the guy that strips everything except the tri-star off my vehicles. My '01 W163 had the "sport package" which had the fender flares, and front and rear fascia, along with the (single) oval exhaust tip. There was no AMG branding on it except the exhaust tip, which had the AMG logo embossed on it. Drove me nuts! But, each to his own.
