Lightbulb Fiber Optics Eyebrow Thoughts....Calling All Experts

Good day all,

In North America we have the orange fiber optics eyebrow, where everywhere else in the world has the white ones. Many of us has gotten used to the orange (including myself) or choose to live with it. But don't you think having white makes it look 10x better?

I am Googling around and thinking IF those can be changed without swapping the whole assembly. Most fiber optics system contains a colour wheel which has different colours. Some will keep on turning to transmit different colours or set to a specific one. Can someone that has experience with fiber optics confirm this? I mean those interior ambient lighting under those wood trims can be changed to 3 different colours, why not the eyebrows?

If it does than we might have hope of removing the orange colour wheel and making it white.

I'll take a look at the back of the headlight assembly and see what I can find.

You're not going to find a "color wheel" in the headlight assembly. It will be a matter of swapping LEDs.

Changing LED optic color

True, last color wheel I saw was shining on a 70s aluminum Christmas tree! Color change with LEDs is typically done by dircuiting RGB (Red/Green/Blue) color producing chips electronically to switch or combine colors. As you say, likely the solution in this case is to change the amber LED for a white one. Individual white chips require a phosphor coating to produce the white light.

I think Amber is gross, but I think it would be a good idea for us to be able to customize the lights to different colors as we please! It would be a great way for owners to customize their cars to make them more unique

A plethora of federal laws regulate lighting, which vary by country. This is why north america gets the amber torch versus white in europe.

Allowing the user to easily customize exterior vehicle lighting is not realistic, and never will be.

Why don't they activate the amber light in the amber plastic plate on the side o the head light? It is there no bulb there like in non xenon headlamps?
