2012 C350 Coupe
Agree that it would be nice if the dealer could do a software flash to get the new silver color. I ordered a 2012 c350 coupe that's arriving at port on the 24th. I looked at all the other features of the MY2013, and the instrument cluster was the one thing that struck me as being a nice improvement. The silver looks so much more modern than the yellow color of past years.
I also have black leather interior with aluminum trim so it would have looked especially nice. This would be so simple for Mercedes to provide as a configurable setting through a menu, but I have my doubts whether it will be an option. That's why they do these little tweaks each model year - to keep us all wanting.
I thought about postponing my shipment and waiting on the 2013, but the coupes will not arrive until September at the earliest. That was just too long for me to wait. A lot of people are saying they'll be arriving in July, but from checking with many sources that's just not the case. From multiple sources, I've been told that the earliest for a 2013 c350 coupe is September and most said this was doubtful.

Good luck - hope you get it. If I'm honest with myself, I wish I had waited and gotten the silver but I'm still excited. I ordered exactly everything I wanted and I'll still be very satisfied. They nailed however with the silver instrument cluster - it's super attractive IMO.

BTW - your garage is looking nice - 2012 A6, 2012 ML, and 2013 GL. Wife just got 2012 S4 - we were also going to hold out on MY2013 for the S4 but there weren't many changes.

Interesting thing is that if we were talking about an iPhone or some hot consumer electronics device, someone would jailbreak it in a second and offer the new color. I wish someone would figure out how to hack the software so that the new silver could be enabled. It's probably just a matter of setting a color attribute on some background template. The font style, typeface, and font size haven't changed at all - simply the color...
There are lots of super bright people on these forums - maybe somebody could take a crack at doing this. I'm an old guy so it would have to be fail safe for me to do it. Otherwise I'd be too scared that I might screw something up.

That cluster does look great! I am not sure that its worth an extra 2% base model package for 2013 which would be an additional 1,000.00 dollars. Indeed, it is good looking though, thanks for the link.

I was told the 2012 C350 has it but I may have misread here and it was E? For ML guy The Dash gauge may not be a hardware change. The 12 ML AMG had it. Ask dealer parts guys it may be same part and a software do. Hope so for those that want it don't count it out till you ask.
