Ahh apologies.... I am in UK. The dealer already had a slot reserved for an existing order which was allocated to me. He was able to modify the spec to match my requirements. Hence I am hopeful of Oct delivery... lets hope!!!

The whole "delivery" process is a bit mysterious to me. Taking two or three months to Australia, Hong Kong, or even the UK seems a bit excessive, but a big ocean or two explains some of it. A July 27 build to a September 10 delivery in Niagara Falls seems unreasonable. I know there are some border/customs obligations in there, but you would think they might have figured out how to do that by now.
My own ML350 was just built on June 20th in Alabama and I picked it up in Virginia on the 23rd of June. Niagara Falls is only about 200 miles farther.
Maybe has something to do with MY2013 release dates?
In the past (1990's), I had ordered a couple of E Class sedans from the factory in Sindelfingen/Stuttgart. The rule-of-thumb at the time was 30 days from build to delivery in the US (Eastrrn states anyway).

Hopefully the lighting package and Pano roof is not a holdup for 2013 as it was for 2012..
Got to look up the motor specs for the Bluetec Sport now...

If you have a '13 on order it may be held until they officially release the '13s for sale and 9/10 may be the date they have in the system for the release of 2013 models. That is part of the frustration of ordering a new model year on one of the first weeks of production. When I was with VW I had a clients car arrive from Germany in early August but due to supply and launch schedules he did not pickup his car until late September.

I ordered my new ML63 (W166) on the 19th June and delivery is only expected in December 2012
However, I do live in Perth, Western Australia (the furthest City from ANYWHERE lol)

Well DNB my order from early June was quoted as 1st week October but has now bounced to November. It is a ML350BT which is why it could be quicker than your ML63. And the ship leaves the US, heads to Hamburg, then to Capetown, then to Perth, then east coast Oz before Asia. So you are not quite the end of the world for once.

Build date is August 24.
Delivery date October 23.
Was going to be up north then, but maybe I will change my plans

Changed the Wheels
Right... so the Dealer was able to get me a 350 Diesel with 21" alloys and Airmatic suspension... test drove it and thought the ride was pretty good... so upgraded the Wheels to 21".... can't wait for the car to arrive now... which according to the dealer should be mid to end of Oct...

I think "sport" is just the AMG body kit but ya never know these days.
I wish we could get the ML250 BT and it's made in North America

Yep. Sport is just in name... In UK it means you get the body kit and dark windows...

2013 ML350 Bluetec
I had an early Oct production spot for a 2013 MLBTC. Now they're saying the 20" wheels and MBTex dash will hold it up, maybe until Dec. Worth the wait?

Interesting, my dealer told me when I was ordering mine that 21" wheels was their delay point..

Now they're also delayed on premium leather seats. Unfortunately, they're required if you want ventilated seats. And in Texas, that is a must have for me. I would've been able to go without the upgraded wheels.
Of course BMW is telling me they can build what I want in an X5 in August. Tempting, but I really prefer the ML.
