ML 350 purchase help!

Hi everyone, i am wondering if i could get your help, I was considering the Bmw X5 the ML350 and the Porsche Cayenne diesel. I have kind of taken the X5 out of this picture as the shape is changing next year sometime although i can get a great deal. So i am asking and as i know it may be a little bias, which do you think is the better car the ML 350 or the Cayenne diesel, and before you bought your car did you consider the cayenne?

I considered the Cayanne diesel,and the ML350CDI... Discounted the X5 straight away as it was too big for my liking and didn't like the interior... The Cayanne I loved and really enjoyed driving it too.. Loved the interior but as Porsche did not consider talking about any discount, I went back to the ML and ordered that as I can get almost £5000 off the purchase price.. the other thing I did not like about the Porsche was the choice of interior colours. I wanted beige but it was just too yellow.. Compared to the ML navigation system which is dial based, I liked the touch screen in the Porsche... In the end the mind won over the heart...

Not to mention the options. To bring the Cayenne close to my ML specs, I would have to add $66,000 in extras, and it would still not have it all.

Mind you I do have $25,000 over standard on the ML, but they did a deal too.

The performance is pretty much on par... the 0-60 times etc are very similar.. however, the interior finish in Porsche is far superior to the ML.. the other advantage was the touch screen Nav compared to the dial that you have to use in the ML.. it was their inability to talk discount that made me walk away..
