Hi All,

I just had my first service (A) done at my dealership. I had about 15K Km on my vehicle. I noticed before leaving dealership that the service indicator was reset, and showed next service (B) at 15K.
When I arrived home and checked again it showed 11K? I don’t know why it jumped down 4K in a short half hour drive home.
Do you think I should try to reset it again myself?

Thanks in advance!

It calculates the mileage left based on certain parameters programmed into the ECU, not just the actual mileage driven. Stop and go city driving, towing, driving style and also how much money is left in the dealerships bank account.

It's odd why it would drop so drastically within a half hour of driving, dropping 4K? I'm going to reset it again, since I just got the service done yesterday.
I believe the norm service between intervals is about 15K for both Service A & B.

Hi Vancity, Would you be able to let me know how you reset the service indicator on your ML. Took mine in for a 12K oil change at my regular guy and for some reason he wasnt able to reset the service A indicatior as he does in all my other Benzes. Any tip in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I would try leaving it and seeing if it starts going up again. I think it will average out after a while.
