My ML350 2012

My vehicle is in the shop due to it stalled on me twice after exiting the parkway at a light! It at the shop for 2 days they have yet to find the cause. I truly didnt expect this after paying 60 grands. I have had it for almost 6 months and she only have 4080 miles! SMH. I hope this is not my future with this Mercedes.

I've had 2012 eight months and have 5200 miles on it without a stalling problem. Luck of the draw I guess because the exact issue you described has been recurring with a lot of owners. I hope they finally find the cause and cure just in case it happens to the rest of us. Let us know what your service people do to correct the problem.

Well They are keeping it over the weekend for whatever reason. It maybe the luck of the draw . I should have stayed with BMW's My luck with them for the past 17 years was so much better. I may just go back to what I trust. I read this have been going on on previous models and 2012. There should be a fix by now . THis tell me your product is not as good as it should be. My safety is more important. I am not feeling good about this purchase. I did love the vehicle but I am concerned with the reliability and my safety at this point.

You have some pretty general negative statements toward the vehicle. Maybe a Toyota for 20 "grands" would make you happier... Mercedes will take care of you. Pretty sure some time on a BMW board will show they don't come without issues...

Are you serious? Yes the fact that my car that I paid 60 thousands dollars for is in the shop with an issue that has been on going for years with Mercedes is not something to smile about. I have had luxury cars for many years . I have also had toyotos. Matter fact I just sold my 07 convertible Solara. If this was your car you wouldnt be happy and yes I have had BMWs for many years and I know they have issues. If your reading comprehension was up to par you would have l noticed I stated my luck of the draw with BMW was better than the Mercedes . Now I hope your luck of the draw with Mercedes is in your favor. Piff you think you would have a better disposition, since you are not in my perdicament. BTW You had nothing to add to this so dismiss yourself .

I too have had my ML in the shop for things. Its pretty common to have issues in any car these days with all the tech that they have in them. Be patient with Mercedes and they will sort it out.

I think you want to make sure you have a positive attitude with your dealer so they really try to work with you to get you squared away.

I thought others that were experiencing this had the diesel motor?

I have been following the other threads where people are also complaining that their ML's are stalling. The one thing that jumps out at me is that not all, but almost everyone is experiencing the same condition.

Exiting a highway and then coming to a stop and it stalls. The vehicles are obviously slowing quickly from highway speeds and then coming to a quick stop.

I am by no means a tech but could it been a bad speed sensor that is getting confused with the quick change in speed.

Again, I am not and don't pretend to be a tech. I'm just trying to think outside the box because even changing out the fuel pump that MB thought was the issue didn't seem to correct the problem for a few people on the other thread.

Good luck and let us know what MB finds.

Well I got my baby back today. I hated driving the glk 350, Ugg. They couldn't find anything. No surprise there since I read here they suffered the same outcome. I was told Mercedes is looking into the problem and they are going to call me in when they find a software fix? SMH I thought next they were going to try to sale me a bridge. I am hoping this does not happen again. I could have bought any Vehicle. I fell in love with my ML350. Keeping fingers crossed that my luck of the draw is better from this point on.

They probably can't fix it because it didn't give them a fault code. I believe that MB depends too much on the computer to tell them what the problem is. But on the other hand if it doesn't happen for them then what are their options?

Doing something is still better then doing nothing. SMH

Service Technicians for the most part these days are unionized mostly overpaid idiots that dont know left from right, they cant think outside of a box, if a computer tells them that its going to snow cats and dogs they will rely on that info solely and stick to it like a Priest with a Bible in Church.

Well here's wishing you luck all goes well from this point on. Maybe you can start to enjoy driving the ML.

I've always enjoyed driving her until last week when she died on me. I put it in drive after she stalled and she started right back up with no problem. Here's to it being a one time occasion.

I agree. I once told them that they have to start using the computer between their ears. I said that if the computer said all the tires were inflated properly yet you saw 4 flats on the car that they would swear that the tires are just fine. Even thought their eyes are telling a different story. :-)

I think they drank the cool-aid......

I actually posted about this under the thread "random stalling" at the beginning of 2012 (a few months after I got my 2012 ML350 - gas not bluetec). I had the EXACT same issue of a stall after exiting the highway and stopping at a light. It happened 3 times - at 4k miles, 5k, and then at 10k - right before I brought it for my first scheduled service. I had brought it into Mercedes after the 2nd stall and they never found anything. BUT miraculously after the 10k service, it never happened again. I now have 34k miles on it and it's been fine! After the 10k service they said maybe it was "bad gas" which I didn't believe because sooo many people replied to my thread and had the same issue. I actually did stop going to my local Shell station after that and I never ever put Shell gas in the car again.

So what fixed it? - the 10k service, never putting Shell gas in the car, or it just magically went away by itself? I don't know, but I'm so relieved the issue is gone.

Ha Ha. I often refer to expensive luxury vehicles are high maintenance girl friends. They give you the pleasure you need/want, but they are whimsical to the hilt.

I may have spoken a bit too soon in my earlier post. My ML stalled the other day. It was 25 degrees, I drove out of my parking lot, on the highway for about 3 minutes, got out and stopped at a traffic light, and then 10 seconds later it stalled. So much for thinking the stalling may have stopped because of different gas or because of something Mercedes had done at the 10k checkup.

I have 34k miles on it and the last stall was when I had 10k. So it's a pretty rare event, but it still should NEVER happen. One day we'll hear about a software upgrade or a recall and this problem will probably be fixed.

Mercedes 2012 ML350
Smile ML 2012 Blu-Tec

Just wanted to post a couple good things about my Mercedes 2012 ML350 Blu-Tec. I traded in my Range Rover for it and I don't miss that SUV one bit!

1. I have already put 21,000+ miles on my MB since December 2012 and I love driving it!
2. Never had a problem with stalling.
3. They did the service B and gave me a new 2012 Mercedes to drive as a loaner car.
4. Was with my 82 year old Dad on the highway and swerved for a pile of junk in the road, the car handled like a dream.. no skid, no unstable swerve just performed and handled like it was an everyday ordeal. Needless to say we both felt good about the way it handled and lived to talk about it

Karentex, I live in Texas too - that is if I am correct in assuming your name is Karen and you're from Texas. Anyway, the dealer absolutely should treat you like a queen and give you anything you want with the kind of business you give them. You put 10,000 miles a month on that car (WOW!) which means you are in their service department at least once a month. If I had a customer like you I'd loan you an AMG!! BTW, what dealership is this? You do not need to answer that if I am mistaken about you being a Texan.
