2013 ML350 Ambient light issue. / Engine stall
Hi.
I've got 2013 ML350 4matic GAS November 2012(3K miles) but my car ambient light works something strange.
During the day (sunny day, out side) The ambient light always light up no matter what.
but sometimes doesn't lit on. if I turned engine off and turn back on then it lit on again.
MBUSA told me; ambient light works with headlight, but dealer said NO. it should be always on. But my car does sometimes ON sometimes off. Even headlight is on.
My 2011 E class was worked with headlight.
The ambient lights should be on and off some reason?
Anybody has same problem?
Another problem is that engine is stall sometimes when I stop at the red light.
I read the thread about same issue, Does any one solved this issue?

My 13'ML350BT ambient lights always on. It also can be changed to 3 different colors and 5 level setting for each color.
If you have the ECO Start/Stop option, the engine will shut down when stop, auto-re start when you try to get going.

Mine doesn't have ECO option. I guess ECO option may be only for the blue tech model.

The ECO option is not on US delivered cars, I've no idea why. It is on Australian, Canada and Euro cars.
I can't see my ambient lighting in daylight I thought it was something that may be light sensitive, but probably yeah it is on all the time.
Engine stalling at a stop light is totally wrong, I'd be amazed if that were to happen. Does it otherwise idle normally and quietly any other roughness issues?

I think it has to do with politics more than anything else. The ML63 probably gets a few mpg better on ECO mode so with this rating, MB's fleet average won't suffer as much when compared to without ECO mode. Something many AMG owners are complaining about is how the car always defaults to ECO mode when you start it up, regardless of what setting it was on before you turned it off. The reasoning behind this (as confirmed by MB corporate on the AMG Private Lounge) is because that's the mode they used for certification so it'd be against the rules to allow the car to start on the last mode set in memory.
