Distronic Plus "unavailable"

My dealer has apparently fixed it... They were stumped but with the prospect of having to replace my defective car... Pulled out the stops and apparently got it sorted.
It was a connection in one of the glass fiber rings under the passenger seats.
PM me directly and I will give you dealer info and maybe your dealer can contact them looking for help.

About the last 1000 miles I had no return of the Distronic not being available, so I didn't take it to the dealer today. Maybe I need to though after thinking about it. I really doubt they'll be able to fix it 'cause they won't be able to duplicate it on site.
The Jag manual said to look for obstructions over the sensor in front of the car. Neither car had obstructions over the senor. It was approx 50*F which is not cold nor hot. Not raining, no fog. I almost turned around in the middle of the night when this happened to go back home. I'm not driving 1300 miles with no cruise control. You lose all your cruise ability if the Distronic is not available.
1300 miles......average speed 76mph.......fuel average 24.7 according to the onboard computer. The fuel avg I usually discount as being fudged upwards and figured the real
figure would be at least one mpg lower........but I went 444 miles on the last tank and I filled it up this morning with 17.8 gallons which my pencil and paper says is 24.9438 mpg, so maybe the Mercedes computer is more accurate than those I've seen in the past?
I love TEXAS where we have reasonable speed limits of 75 mph mostly .........some 85mph speed limits near Austin and in west Texas and a lot of 80mph speed limits.
I think my ML350 Bluetec could get 28mpg if I drove it at ?? a steady 65 mph. But what a drag that would be. Both my Jaguar and SL get better mpg than this ML, but they aren't carrying around 5000 lbs either.
Distronic and Adaptive Speed Control are both really nice once you get used to them, but if they go out.........you ain't a got no darn cruise control no 'mo. Pedal to the metal.
On my frequent trips to the beach in single lane traffic averaging 42 mph, my ML350 computer usually goes over 30 miles to the gallon. Have to love that diesel fuel economy in a SUV
