New ML 550 finally arrives
Hey everyone. I've been lurking around the boards for a few weeks since I ordered my 550. These forums are full of great information and great people! Glad to finally join in.
I picked up my diamond white ML 550 today and couldn't be more happy. I ordered on March 20th and received it today, April 29th....so pretty quick!
I loaded it out and elected to go with the porcelain designo interior. I know its gonna be a pain to keep clean but omg it is amazing in person.
Just FYI. Drove 130 miles home from the dealer. Had the cruise set anywhere between 65-80 mph in some fairly hilly area. Computer stated 18.9 mpg for the trip average....so I figure maybe 17 real world mpg.
Also the wood is Anthracite Poplar.

Whoa! First off, welcome to the boards. Second, congrats on the absolutely beautiful build. Really clean and luxurious looking. Your build is nearly exact to mine minus the Designo interior and mine being an ML350. Anthracite Poplar wood is a really nice style... I went with it. Apparently less than 5% of all ML's come with it so that adds a bit of rareness to it! I personally love it. I have a 1911 with the same wood style grips 
Mine was ordered on 3/20/2014 as well and went red in the system about 1.5 weeks later. Did you customize yours or did you take one already locked in the dealer system? Also, did the dealer ever give you a build date? Mine has a build date of 5/17/2014 but seeing as we both ordered on the same day... I'm hoping mine will come in early as hell like yours!
Any insight you can give would be awesome. I'm sick of waiting! haha

So my order was placed on 3/20. I customized one. The dealer traded for another dealer slot and the scheduled build date was April 20-30. I called on April 23rd to check on the status and it was still "red, production pending." They said expect 2-3 weeks from now. Well....they called this morning and it had arrived on the truck! The dealer was surprised. It went from production scheduled to the dealer in Kentucky in 6 days! That's not standard though...as above they said expect 2-3 weeks. I hope yours gets there soon! It's worth the wait though. Grats on your order! You will love the Anthracite Poplar.

Looks great! FYI my 550 has averaged 16.8 mpg over 25 months of ownership. Better on the highway but pretty terrible in the city. All worthwhile though every time you nail the gas!!!

Beautiful truck, I love the white designo. It's a beautiful interior and holds up great. I have the 13 Ml550, 22k miles on it. I have two kids and a golden retriever so I went with the auburn designo and satin ash... I like the lighted running boards, I wish that was available my year. Did you get the on/off road package?

****Also, my dealer sales manager confirmed that all the information he had received thus far showed ML550 gone for MY15 to be replaced by ML400 BT V6.

Thanks for the little bit of extra info! I wonder why you received such an earlier build date than me. Probably because you have an ML550 cause that's the only thing I see being a huge difference. Yeah once mine went red I received an email from my dealer about the May 17th build date. Anywho, heres wishing to a early arrival. I really can't wait.

Just an update. Took a road trip to Florida (1,800 miles round trip). Averaged 19.1 mpg hand calculated driving 75ish on the interstates. 16 mpg in and around Orlando for the week. I'm impressed with those numbers. Amazing road trip vehicle for sure! Very comfortable!
