Flat Tire
Hi all,
-I need your input with this issue, thank you in advance [I tried searching the forum, but could not find the information needed].
-My 2014 ML 350-4matic [gas] had a flat tire this weekend. It was last driven 5-6 days ago and yesterday I noticed the flat tire.
-I called MB roadside and they put on the spre tire for now.
-Original tire is: Conitnental 255/50 R 19. MO. M+S. 107H. cross contact LX sport. Car has about 1000 miles on it
what should I do next
A] Just take it to costco/walmart and get the tired 'fixed' and put it back on. done!
B] You can't fix these tires, just buy a new one.
c] You also need to take it to the dealership to make sure the sensors/alignment are not out of sync.

Walmart will not install the wheel back on the car using a torque wrench. They will overtighten the bolts with an air impact wrench, which can warp your rotors.
Your MB dealership will be fairly close to a good price if you have it done there and you've been to tirerack.com to know what the dealership should be charging you for the tire. Don't hesitate negotiating on a tire.

Take it to a reputable tire dealer, not a big box store. They will tell you whether or not the tire can be repaired; and, if yes, will do it properly.
If it's a simple puncture, the correct way is to use a combination patch/plug inserted from the inside of the tire.

The answer depends on where the puncture is. We just had the driver front patched due to a screw ~10 weeks ago and ended up with another puncture this weekend but the nail was on the inner most row of tread. 2 different tire shops said that it could not be repaired that close to the edge so off to the dealer for a new tire...$326 later I'll be good to go ☹

Thank you guys.
I didn't know this tire could be repaired (depending on the damage and location of course).
I thought this is like one of those that needs replacing if anything goes wrong.
I will take it to the shop and hope it will be repairable.

We've been using Discount Tires for years.
Just bought a new set at Sam's Club, Goodyear Eagles, great price w/ $80 instant rebate/discount, $60 install for all 4 tires.
Both shops will fix flat, nails in your tire for free, if it's on the inner tread, not 1" from sidewall & sidewall...
Great service from both!

We've been using Discount Tires for years.
Just bought a new set at Sam's Club, Goodyear Eagles, great price w/ $80 instant rebate/discount, $60 install for all 4 tires.

'13 ML550, '08 ML320cdi (retired) & '99 ML320 (retired)
275/45/20 Conti DWS
I just had a flat last weekend (screw in tread). With 27,000 miles on original Conti's, decided to upgrade. Discount Tire had set in less than two days, out the door a little over $1300. The DWS is about 1 inch wider tread than originals (10 inches) on the 9 inch AMG wheels. Not significantly taller. So far rides/handles better than the originals. Haven't tried in the heavy rain yet, but concern about hydroplaning was the main reason I changed with 5,000 + miles remaining on the others.
