The ML/GLE would be perfect if they offer a third row seating option!

I like the exposed exhaust but the front reminds me of the cheaper GLA unfortunately. The new command buttons have a high quality look but that screen standing/sticking out is still a step backwards imho. However it looks like the 3.0 Diesel might be coming back to the US, that would be great! http://www.carscoops.com/2015/03/201...photos-of.html

diesel
It is inspiring to see the article mention the 6 cyl diesel. Will it make it's way back to the US and be sold alongside the 250? That will certainly be a question I'll ask the reps at NYIAS. Not really being impressed w/ the '15 250, we had finally decided to wait until the end of the year to either get a RaceChip in a new GLE250, or score a deal on a leftover GL350. I like the overall look of the facelift, interesting to see the diesel also having a dual exhaust. My existing 350 has a single exhaust.
The new 2 lines on the hood may have to grow on me. A real bonus that has been a pain to me is that it looks like the bars on the grill will now have a smooth upper and lower edges. Drying and wiping the stepped upper edge of each of the bars to avoid/get rid of the water stains gets tiring. For years, I've always admired the Diamond White paint but the pics of the GLE63 seems to bring new life to the standard white. Waiting to see how much of a difference (improvement?) the LED's are over the xenons. May have to hop over to the E-class forums to get their take thus far, if it's the same units used. Also, in the press pics, the 250d have the led drl's but the hybrid and 63 don't? I wonder if there's an addition air intake or intercooler behind those grills on certain models.
As for the interior, I think it would eventually grow on you. The new screen seems to be here to stay so just going to have to get get used to it. I look forward to seeing it in the flesh in 10 days.

Here's an Australian article that I've just come across.
http://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/n...26-1m870t.html
It seems there'll be 2 GLE500s for us - the GLE500e which is the hybrid V6 and the normal GLE500 with the non-AMG 4.7 V8.
Seems the US is STILL missing out on the 4.7 bi-turbo V8 again if you read the motortrend article from the link in Alex Bel's post, but the carscoops article from Strafzettel's post says it WILL be.
Confusing much? Guess we'll all just have to wait and see.
Anyway, I like the changes, and will certainly upgrade if that 4.7 V8 is available. I don't want a GLE63 because you can't get the ON/OFF Road pack on one.
Safe motoring as always fellow members!

Guys, you're getting way ahead of yourselves. This is a world debut. Just because they are showing all the engines doesn't mean they will all be available here.

Definitely a great looking facelift for the "now extinct" M-Class
Unfortunately, the average consumer will not get that this is simply a facelift and not a completely new SUV and thus, the M-Class will probably suffer a greater hit in resale value.

the pre facelift ML550 with nappa sport interior and sport exterior was definitely more premium than the standard ML350. I've had both 2012 ml350 and 2014 ML550. when installers or even the mercedes dealer gets inside my car, everyone's surprised since they've never seen these finished before. Except for an AMG of course.

I have contacted MBAuP to see if the GLE500 (4.7 V8) will be available here, otherwise I'm going to upgrade my current ML before they stop producing them with that engine.
In typical MB fashion they've said "thank you for your interest, more information will be available closer to the launch"
So yeah, f'all info/help from them for now, even though I've told them about my small concern.
This happened to me a couple of years ago with the E-Class. I went into my local dealer to order a new E500 sedan. I was strongly advised to hold off for a couple of months as the facelift was about to be released. Then MBAuP released the update, and dropped the E500 totally, and replaced it with the E400. I was soooooo damn annoyed with them, but there was nothing I could do. I did drive the E400 but it wasn't a pinch on the E500 so we never bought one. Their loss.
I can see history repeating itself again.
I can also see me still driving my '13 ML500 for a few years longer now. Worse things have happened!
Cheers folks! Happy upcoming Easter!

Don't think so....at least it doesn't appear so in the photos.
FWIW, the GL uses the same platform with a 121" wheelbase so I'm gonna suspect a staffer transposed the incorrect number in a press document or something went wrong at the magazine.

I really like the new nav screen. The ipad-on-the-dash style is the current style being adopted by everyone because it allows for an easy-to-glance-at large screen without a ridiculously bulky dash. Imagine what the dash would look like if it had to swallow up that screen.

2015 ML 350
Top of dash aside, and probably next gen Comand software, looks like a minor refresh. Are there any other things that seem to make it more luxurious to you guys or more perfect than the 2015?

i like it too of course. gotta see what car pool green sticker options come out this year. cayenne plug in, ML 550e, then i'd trade my 2014 early to grab the stickers in california before they run out. then getting the facelift 911 for a little while. gotta get it out of my system!
