'14 ML 350 4matic vs '12 GL350 BT. I really need help in urgent !! Last day to exchan

Hi everyone,

I just bought my '14 ML350 4matic 6 days ago at my local MB dealer . I have husband and 3 kids under 10 years old. My last car was Lexus ES330 and current hubby car is Gx460.
The ML car is great , smooth , quited and has 15,500 miles on it . I paid for $44,000 drive out. I love it! However, I just realized that my car doesn't have much option like : keyless go, change lane packge, parking sensor... just basically with P01 with navigation, rear view camera...
I just test drove the '12 GL350 BT at same dealer this morning. It has 22,000 miles on it and it has everything , fully loaded with rear entertainment system , Harman Kardon sounds ...... The only thing that I don't like is the steering wheel of the GL350 much heavier than my ML and not as smooth as my car.
Base on the options and luxury interior I started to like the GL more . As I mentioned before on other thread, this ML is my first MB so I don't know much about this brand as I know Lexus. 4 Lexus in my family history so far.
Today is the last day for me to exchange the car base on CPO with 7 days/ 500 miles.
I have to pay $6000 more for the GL.
Please give me some inputs should I exchange for the GL350? TIA.

I have a 2015 ML 350. All of our kids are grown and out the door With 3 kids under 10 your ML 350 will get small quickly. Fuel usage will be better than the GL but you will gain the volume with growing kids. Coin up and get the GL.
Good luck!

The GL is a diesel so the mileage will be about the same as the ML gas. If I were you, I would take the GL as long as it's CPO. Maybe offer a little less but still should be a good deal.

Thanks to RCFRANK , TROYMIR350.
for your inputs. The only thing I'm concern is the '12 old model for GL . Does that GL still a good vehicle and will last long for 7-8 more years? Manufacture's warranty till 8/2016 and one more year for CPO. Anything else about pre maintenance - extended warranty.... would you please mention to me. Any more inputs would be great appreciate !!!

Because it's a diesel, maintenance is a little more expensive so I'd buy the pre-paid maintenance package. Ask for a discount on that too for all your trouble. I personally never let a car like these get out of warranty coverage. The price to replace any major item is about the price of the extended warranty.

Otherwise, I've never heard too many bad things about that year GL. We had 2 GLs from that generation and they were great.

Good morning RCFRANK. Thanks for your asking! We decided to keep my ML car since it's our first MB and I love white color. My hubby will trade in his '11 GX460 for the GL next year. We love the roomy of the GL too.

So two MB SUVs. Then you'll have spare room for more kids . Work on it.

Re Steering Feel

Does one car have conventional power steering (belt driven pump) and the other electric? If so, that's the reason for the difference.

Hi RCFRANK : thank you! I'm enjoying my ML now :-) It drives better than my old ES330 but the interior of the ML not as nice as our Lexus though.

I'm not sure for the '12 GL but I know my ML has electric steering wheel.

You made the right choice. You can now take your time and find a newer CPO GL at a better price than you were offered . Older cars even with low mileage have problems. Enjoy your ML. Polar white is the best.
