Anyone want to swap in running boards?
My GF measures around 5' and says the running boards are in her way when getting out of the truck. Looking to swap the boards for standard rocker panels. Our boards are in great condition, the truck only has about 12k miles on it.

My wife is only 4'11" and she always uses the stepping board. No way in hell she will drive the ML without one. I think your GF does not know how to properly get in and out of the car. If she gets in and out like a "man" meaning gang-ho just darts in, for her height it is the wrong way. She needs to get inside the ML like a fine lady. Grab the wheel with the left hand, step in the stepboard with the left foot, turn counter-clockwise while dropping her bum towards the sit the rotate clockwise (if she likes wearing mini skirts she will like this way of getting inside the truck as nobody will see her tongs going in unless you are in front of her and she likes to give you a show). Your GF's legs will never go wide with this way of entering the ML or any car that is high.

LOLOL. That's hilarious. I honestly never expected a play-by-play on how a "lady" gets in/out of an ML.
Just for grins, I recounted your advice to her. I don't think you'd appreciate her response LOL. But I do. Just the effort you put into the answer is impressive *wink*.
Seriously though, I can't stand the damn things either. I'm 5'6" and trying to clear the darn things in the winter (while they're covered in slush/snow/salt) is going to be a PITA. Even the X6 is a pain due to the wide skirts, though thankfully she's in Florida permanently now.

Update; purchased the parts brand new and had them painted black and installed. Much better looking, IMHO.
So now I've got a set of running boards with all the necessary accessories for sale, if anyone local is interested
