thinking of the same project. Does anyone know how to remove the seat covers from the rear seats? I want to take the seat covers off to see if i can only fit OEM heating pads or is an aftermarket product would be a possibility but the bottom and back portions look solid, could not find any instructions online as well....

We have a local shop add 2nd row rear heated seat with aftermarket components - switch control installed B pillar - $800 all in - have no idea on OE component install - haven't priced out those components.

This info should help if you are going the OEM route. The rear SAM is located under the rear seat.

I use WIS. I could print from STAR too. The only printer I have installed is the PDF Writer so when ever I print anything it goes to PDF.

Thank you for starting the thread Zenman

I had to replace a 2nd row ( rear ) seat cover, valet had destroyed seat leather with over cleaning, anyhow, Can't replace just one seat, Rear seat covers came with heating elements.
I might as well take on a new mission to have them connected. Front heats are already heated.
I need the cable wiring and rear seat heating modules, This can be found somewhere or ordered.

What I am desperately short of is the layout of the modules and wiring cables, where are they fixed under which seats and how, how many modules would I need, one for each side., and the cable that runs from module to the console.
I think, you can tell the level of my expertise and that I do need to be guided. I can do visual to a certain point and get someone who can read to follow thru with the rest of the cabling. Would I need individual pcs of cabling or or a harness. I am in the dark here without any pictures.

What I really need is pictures of the modules and cable layout beneath both rear seats so I can follow suit

Does anyone know, if I need to replace both rear and front heating / AC consoles.

Could someone please share pictures of the seats layout.

Can someone please shed some light on this, I appreciate that very much. Thank you so much.

Hi. I’d like to give this a try on my 2014 ML350 W166. Has anybody completed this project successfully? Perhaps you could give a summary of the parts and steps necessary? Thanks for you help!
