ML350 BT Air box seals

2013 BT- Does anybody have the part number (s) or link to the red/orange air box seals? There are 2 (each side) that seal the filter housing to the intake tubes. I mangled mine replacing the filters.

Dan, can you tell if it's possible to install screens on the air-inlet opening like I have on ours? I removed the filter at 15k miles and it's clean as a whistle, but I'm constantly having to clean the crud off the screens

See pics below, if my ***** works...

I posted the pics so that you could compare my setup to yours. If you have the little indents in your air-inlet housings at the front of the grille, then you should be good to go. I'm telling you, my filters were pristine. Yes, I'm sure that where you drive makes a difference on how often you change your air filters. But unless you live on a farm in Iowa and drive on dirt roads all the time, I'm sure that the screens will save you trouble from bugs'n stuff.

So glad you can see the pics, I think I've got the hang of this now *waving middle finger at Photobucket with a *****-eating grin on my face*

Hi Peter,
I would question the filters quality if there clean after 15K miles.
Looking at mine after 10K they were just light grey color just from micro dust and a few bugs))
But I will look if they can be installed.

P.S. Can you look at them and see if there MB part # on them?
So far each part I touched had part # on it.

Filters are OEM. And maybe I'm over-simplifying when I say they were pristine. They weren't virgin-white, but seeing as I was expecting the kind of mess I've seen on this site, they were very, very clean. Tapping them against a hard surface didn't result in dirt being shaken loose. And absolutely no bugs or anything like that. Then again, I'm running screens. Those, I've cleaned 3 times in 5k miles.

I'll pull the part numbers and post back. But if you don't have the pockets in which the screens snap into place (as per my pics), you'll have to get creative and jimmy-rig something.

I really don't understand why the pics didn't show up this time, I copied the process I used the last time....

Yeah, that's not the same set-up at all. You'd have to find a way to make up custom screens to fit in there.

When you think about it though, why'd they get rid of the screen set-up? Maybe too restrictive? I imagine the 2012's & 13's had them from the beginning of the new model, there has to be a reason they re-tooled to change the air-inlet set-up for 2014. They didn't do it just for grins.
