I bought these LEDs:
OEM and all halogens weren't bright or white enough. I had HIDs, didn't like the shadow created by the filament and wanted brighter, instant on lights.
These are white, bright, and no error codes. You install the base, then insert the four sided light into the base. This allows you to adjust the bulb, both rotate and depth, so it works properly with the projector lens. There is now a newer, brighter LED option available from the same maker..
You have to use a clip for this LED bulb, hold the base in the socket. I bought this one:
Total cost was about $60 and I'm very happy with them.

Thanks Much Harrison. Question, so you didn't need to buy the anti-flicker resister or decoders, correct?
You mentioned that there is a newer brighter option from the same maker. Is the newer version the one listed on your Amazon link?
Thanks again.

Upgraded bulbs. Brighter, whiter, look the same. Found these through an upgrade link to the older light. I did not buy and anti-flicker resistors or decoder.

Thanks Harrison. Comparing both lights it seems like the new version have a longer housing to accommodate a bigger fan. I just want to make sure I can close the headlight housing plastic cap upon installation, so I went ahead and order he same ones you have. They seem to be not as long including the fan.
Yet another question. Where or how did you install the LED housing (small box) . Did you just connected it and let it roam free inside the light housing? or did you use another method?
Thanks

I was looking forward to someone saying the upgraded lights worked out.
FYI - I did have HIDs installed for about a year before these LEDs. There was just enough room to stuff the many HIDs electronic components (ballast, flicker, a foot or so of wiring) into headlight housing as the cover still fit. I also replaced the little bulb with LEDS, but not the brights. The brights are probably impossible to get to.

I found this below website very useful to research the bulbs and compare for both types projector and reflector types. Currently using Bosch gigalight bulbs H7 on my ML350BT very pleased.

HI Harrison, I got an email back this morning from Oedro. They said that I will need a decoder or resistor to stop anti flicker of the lights. I don't believe you have that problem or that you used a decoder or resistor, right??

I do not have a decoder or resistor installed and the lights work perfectly. Worst case iafter you install the bulb is you either have to buy a the additional device after it flickers or return the bulbs. Best case is they work. Install takes about 20 minutes, but set aside an hour. Its been so long since I installed my first set on non-halogens, there's a small, metal clip that holds the halogens in place and clips on to th he electrical connector. . I removed that little clip, don't remember if I had to or not. Also, polarity matters on LEDs. If the light doesn't turn on, unplug it and flip the plug s9 the blades from the LED are in different holes of th he electrical connection. It's as easy as plugging in anything into a wall socket

Thanks Harrison, the LED's worked great. The OEDRO HT LED Kit fits and works with no flickering or codes out of the box. I didn't even have to adjust the beam.

Excellent website for comparing halogen bulbs. Took their recommendation on Bosch Gigalight 120+ EXTREMLY pleased with results, massive difference compared to stock bulbs.

Hello.
I have a 2015 ML350. I've bought LED's along with the H7 adaptors, but I CANNOT get the lights to insert into the socket. How did you do it?

It was hard. If you bought the LEDs I referenced, the base slides off the actual light is held into the base with orings. I used floss to create a loop so if/when I dropped something, I wouldn't lose it in the headlight housing.
After removing the base from the LED, I held the base with my finger in the base's hole, slid one side of the bracket (bottom one) into the correct position, then had to muscle the other half into the other half of the receiver in the headlight unit. After getting it almost in place, I used a screwdriver to scoot the tab into it's final place.
For the other lights I installed, I stuffed both hands into the small space between the access panel and the back of the headlight. I held the light with one hand and used the other to get the clip to hold the light in place.

I didn't touch the high beams. There's an arm attached to the bulb socket that is in place right now. It's very difficult to get the OEM light in with the arm. I do not know how or if you would/could squeeze your hand into the housing to get to the high beam socket, let alone get the bulb into the socket.

If you are trying to install the bulbs on the outer socket, you need to go through the front wheel well. There's a pin holding a retainer in place, remove the pin from the middle of the retainer. Then you remove the pin, slide the cover forward and down, then you can reach up inside to remove the cover/disc on the back of the headlight unitn Now you should have easy access to install the bulb in the socket. If you're digging around from the hood area on top of the bulb, put everything back to the way it was and go through the wheel well. If the metal clip on the LED doesn't rotate on the LED light, line up the parts that extend away from the bulb, make sure you align them properly because the metal tabs are not 180 degrees apart, and twist to the left ( I believe). If you look at the back of the socket, you should be able to tell which way to rotate the metal clip/led bulb.
