What's running after shutdown?
'14 ML350. Wife drove into garage at 0845. Just now at 0935 I went into the garage and I could hear a faint fan sound coming from the pass side hood. I went around to the driver's side where the window was open. I could hear the faint fan sound and I felt a slight movement of air out the vents. I opened the door and fan stopped. I closed the door and it started again. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have never witnessed my ML running the fan after shutdown, and it would certainly help with the a/c odor. I read somewhere that there is a setting or option for the drying feature that needs to be turned on. . Is there a way to determine if a car has this option turned on?

So I think what you/we are looking for is the Switching cooling with air dehumidification on/off. I tried once to read the disc on my pc but it's an ISO file. I found an ISO reader program but I wasn't able to make it work. Maybe someone smarter than me will take pity on us and tell us how to read that disc without having to SIT IN THE CAR!!!!!

I am truly sorry for the following rant. F#(k1ng Mercedes put all the climate control info in that god-forsaken digital manual where you have to sit in the GD car and squint at the Comand screen. Here's what page 125 of the OM says....Operating the climate control systems. In the Digital Operator's Manual you will find information on the following topics: Switching climate control on/off. Switching cooling with air dehumidification on/off.

Thank you. 2 wrongs don't make a right, but 3 lefts make a right. The manual you so kindly uploaded is for MY15. As stated in my first post, I have a MY14. The '14 OM does not have anything like the '15. It just refers you to the onboard digital manual. Pg 145 is driving systems. But now, thanks to you, I can read about in the comfort of my home. So all good.

As others have said, it's the cabin fan drying up the evaporator so you don't get mold growth. AFAIK there is a TSB on the subject and every single ML that has been serviced at any dealership in the last 5-6 years will have had the fan programming update that intermittently kicks in for up to 45 minutes after the engine has been shut off.
