2014 ML350 Bluetec - CEL code P050E and slow to start
Also, has anyone had the starting lag like I have after the recall work on your Bluetec? I initially thought it was the battery because at my B9 service they mentioned I should think about replacing it but it seemed odd that the change would occur overnight and only began immediately after having the recall work done.
Otherwise the car acts fine. No loss in power, had better gas mileage on a recent trip. Thanks for any input/insight you might have.

I ended up taking it in a total of three times and they had to do some additional repairs and software updates I believe. I also had my battery replaced that last time, just to see if that would help plus I'd been told that the battery was needing to be replaced back in the spring so I went ahead with that repair. Here's my timeline:
#1 - I had the recall work done which replaced all of the exhaust system parts involved in the recall - NOX sensors, cat. converter, etc. Got my car back and didn't drive it for a few days, then noticed the lag in start when I tried to crank it the first time after getting it home.
#2 - My check engine light came on about a week after the initial repair and the code was 185800. The exact text from my bill is: Found code for Exhaust Aftertreatment malfunction. Code 185800. Checked and found PTSS case for similar concern - Performed SCN coding on the CDI and SCR module. Checked that the correct NOX sensors were installed in the correct locations - OK. Reset adaptations for the exhaust after treatment system and had driven for 40 miles. Rechecked for faults - no faults returned." I think this is when they did some additional software updates.
#3 - Looking at my paperwork for the third trip I had faults 16cc00, 203d85, 203d22 at the last trip. They removed and replaced the AdBlue control unit (that alert had showed up on my console too) which is part 1 166-471-07-75 A01-1PV637 RS Preheater. There's a note under it that says "control unit damaged during repair, hose end snapped due to age and dry rotting" so that may or may not apply to your vehicle since it seems to be human error. They also removed and replaced the fuel delivery module (part # 1 002-470-68-94 A03-1PV158 RS Fuel).
After that everything seems to be normal.
If you need me to scan and send you my paperwork I can do that. I don't want anyone else to have to deal with endless trips to get this stuff fixed.
