Possible to change the interior accent lights from orange to white?
I'm going to be adding ambient lighting using 'LaserWire' after being loaned a new MBZ that had it built in. The new ambient lighting is sexy!
It would look a bit funky though with all of the buttons lit up orange.

it's okay, I don't mind...I hope attacking someone on the interweb made you feel a little manlier! I imagine your wife's boyfriend had her out on the town when you wrote that.
But Ahhhktwally, it's an OEM feature in these 60K rides...here I'll edumacate you here:

You're missing the point and clearly did not understand my comment. I said do a PROPER retrofit. Package 876 on the MB build sheet. Look it up. I was suggesting to do THAT, and not cheap out and make it look ghetto. You have two options, the 3-way color ambient light 876 trim pieces from the pre-facelift 166's, or the post-facelift GLE's with the 64 color ambient option. The latter, however, involves an entire retrofit of the COMAND system and is not as plug and play to what I did in my pre-facelift. However, it looks, and is 100% stock using the correct MB parts.
So sure, take that attitude -- you'll find I'm one of the few people around here that did a proper retrofit of ambient light to a truck that did not have package 876, but go on ahead with the newbie attitude. Let's see how far you get. Your video is also an A-Class. Completely different ambient light system than the w166 one.

Anyhow, this thread was looking for which bulbs the car uses so I change the button lighting from yellow to white as every new mbz has. This post wasn't asking anything about ambient lighting but you had to chime in with a smartass comment for some reason.

Also changing all of the "Solar" (correct nomenclature for the color emitted by door + window + console switches) is not possible. There are not "bulbs" inside the switches. Take one apart. Look at it. You can change overhead lighting to cooler LED's, but that's it. But the reason the lights are warm, and have been for decades, is because no one wants to see bright white light at night when opening a car door.

the aftermarket ones. Long term functionality of the ambients will be better, as we47 posted in his thread he made a while back.
Otherwise, Im just adding that to those who really want package 876 in their cars, should do their homework on it and what to look for when purchasing it. Especially on the W166 where it isnt a standard feature.
I was looking more for package 810 then 876 but since i didnt end up with it, I know better for next time.

When your only contributions to the forum are not the merde that regularly hits the ever spinning blades of the proverbial fan, then you might earn some respect. What input of value have you provided in this and 99% of your other posts? Does it have ANYTHING to do with the OP's question? You are the very definition of a troll.
