As the title says...does someone make bulb replacements that are white led? The orange is a bit dated.
I'm going to be adding ambient lighting using 'LaserWire' after being loaned a new MBZ that had it built in. The new ambient lighting is sexy!
It would look a bit funky though with all of the buttons lit up orange.

you're going to make a 60k suv look like a f*ing honda civic with a 16 yr old at the helm by cheaping out on aftermarket ambient lighting instead of doing a proper retrofit. But hey, if that's the look you're going for, can't wait to ride with you.

You put spinners on the wheels too, right??????

No need for that comment.

Angry much there chief?

it's okay, I don't mind...I hope attacking someone on the interweb made you feel a little manlier! I imagine your wife's boyfriend had her out on the town when you wrote that.

But Ahhhktwally, it's an OEM feature in these 60K rides...here I'll edumacate you here:

Virtually everything is backlit orange...every single button in the steering wheel, every button on the console, every button on all of the doors, the door handle backlight.

My wife's pregnant and in another country where they're not fully vaccinated/open, working night shoots on a movie, but putting on a brave face to get thru the job, but....cool?

You're missing the point and clearly did not understand my comment. I said do a PROPER retrofit. Package 876 on the MB build sheet. Look it up. I was suggesting to do THAT, and not cheap out and make it look ghetto. You have two options, the 3-way color ambient light 876 trim pieces from the pre-facelift 166's, or the post-facelift GLE's with the 64 color ambient option. The latter, however, involves an entire retrofit of the COMAND system and is not as plug and play to what I did in my pre-facelift. However, it looks, and is 100% stock using the correct MB parts.

So sure, take that attitude -- you'll find I'm one of the few people around here that did a proper retrofit of ambient light to a truck that did not have package 876, but go on ahead with the newbie attitude. Let's see how far you get. Your video is also an A-Class. Completely different ambient light system than the w166 one.

You were being an ***...the opposite of being helpful...I don't want to do it 'cheap' otherwise I would have.

Anyhow, this thread was looking for which bulbs the car uses so I change the button lighting from yellow to white as every new mbz has. This post wasn't asking anything about ambient lighting but you had to chime in with a smartass comment for some reason.

Your first post literally said "I'm going to be adding ambient lighting using 'LaserWire' after being loaned a new MBZ that had it built in." The MB ambient lighting is NOT "Laserwire". And I said not to do it because it will look crappy and to do it right.

Also changing all of the "Solar" (correct nomenclature for the color emitted by door + window + console switches) is not possible. There are not "bulbs" inside the switches. Take one apart. Look at it. You can change overhead lighting to cooler LED's, but that's it. But the reason the lights are warm, and have been for decades, is because no one wants to see bright white light at night when opening a car door.

I think you interpreted his response wrong, I dont think @we47b1me meant to be mean in his comments. His main point was that if you wanna do it, make sure you use the MB parts and not go with
the aftermarket ones. Long term functionality of the ambients will be better, as we47 posted in his thread he made a while back.

Otherwise, Im just adding that to those who really want package 876 in their cars, should do their homework on it and what to look for when purchasing it. Especially on the W166 where it isnt a standard feature.
I was looking more for package 810 then 876 but since i didnt end up with it, I know better for next time.

Actually, that's exactly what he meant to be. I dare you to look at his last 100 posts and not find smart-***, non-constructive, irritating & obnoxious comments & general snarkiness. We've managed to call a truce and stay away from each other, but that doesn't make him any more pleasant on-line. Bloody shame too. Most of us come here to learn, swap stories etc. Conversing on this site should be something informative and pleasant, not stress-inducing. Honestly, he's one reason I visit this site more infrequently lately.

Oh, and we47b1me gets along great with Diabolis. Two peas in a pod. 'Nuff said...

no beef with you, honestly. If my overtly-sarcastic and blunt, hard-to-truly-interpret-tone-online demeanor upset you, apologies and mea culpa ✌️. You're a pro here with great advice. Respect.

Someone call the village. We found their idiot.

When your only contributions to the forum are not the merde that regularly hits the ever spinning blades of the proverbial fan, then you might earn some respect. What input of value have you provided in this and 99% of your other posts? Does it have ANYTHING to do with the OP's question? You are the very definition of a troll.
