ML350 transmission mount, rear flex disc replacement

Team,
To replace 2012 ML350 4matic transmission mount, can we just jack up the transmission oil pan area and lift enough clearance for the mount to come out, or do we need to remove a couple of cross support brackets with 16mm bolts?
To replace its rear flex disc, do we need to loosen the drive shaft bearing support bracket?
Thanks!
Sean

I have not done this on my 2014 ML350. However, on my W210/W211, I supported the transmission oil pan with a flat piece of lumber and did not remove the cross member when replacing the trans mount. Here are the engine mount and trans mount WIS instructions.

Thank you so much, Khansen.
Reviewed the transmission mount procedure. It is not daunting work, better follow the WIS instructions than jack up the transmission without removing the crossmember and cross strut.

dallasblue,

One thing to note on the trans mount. It is different than my W210/W211.

Here's the prop shaft.

Thank you, Khansen. I bought a genuine part, took off the old one, found it was so intact, so I put the old one back.

Need to be very careful about rear flex disc part. You don't want to buy wrong part like me, even I ordered genuine part on Pelican parts, somehow it is wrong.

Also a reminder that the drive shaft bearing bracket needs to be loosen in order to free rear flex disc, Plus it is important to mark the shaft and disc pre disassembly. It is better to have a helper around.

I just bought the wrong flex disc also, replacement one is too small. Original part is numbered 515 411 0215. What’s the secret to getting the right flex disc?

What year? Do you have a 4matic or RWD?

For my 2014 ML350 4matic, my EPC calls out A0004110000 for the rear. It is the only one.

Searching on FCP Euro site gives a couple of options: Mercedes Drive Shaft Flex Joint Kit - Corteco 1704100115 or Mercedes Flex Disc Kit - Meyle 0004110000

Pelican had the similar.

I did not find many options for 5154110215. Used or new from Lithuania.

It’s a 2012 ML350 Bluetec 4 Matic. Searching today I also came up with 0004110000, but nowhere can I find the original part number 515… cross reference.

Ok. So for the diesel, MB EPC calls out a different part number. A0004111100. I used a 2012 ML350 Bluetec 4matic VIN to get the part number.

I live in NC and use Midatlantic Mercedes in Chantilly when I need MB parts or to help determine a part number. Any MB site will do. The dealer can also give you the part number based on your VIN.
https://www.midatlanticmercedes.com/...upling-4111100

According to their site, the part above replaces 164-410-00-15 which comes up on FCP Euro's site as well as Pelican Parts.

Best of luck!

In my case, Pelican parts only showed the disc for cars with option 430 (off road package) only. So second time, I called them and give the vin number and they actually carry the part although it was not shown online. So sometimes connecting with a sales specialist is nicer.

A reminder: make sure that the mechanic put the washer on the right side (rubber side) on every single bolt! I almost wanna cry when I found out the mechanic put one washer on the wrong side. Have to go back visit again tomorrow to fix it. That is why whenever I can, I work on my cars myself. Do not tell them 60 Nm + 90 degree rotation that kind of torque data for the bolts because ........

Great info, thanks all. Will Call Pelican to ensure I get the right part.
