Intermittent pulling sensation when using cruise control?

Hey everyone!

2013 ML350 Bluetec. 340 000km. Every 5-10 minutes or so, while I'm using the cruise control, I'll get a random pulling sensation as if I'm pulling a trailer. The car will slow down by 2-3 km/h and then resume back to the cruise control speed. It's a really weird sensation. I have seen it happen while not using the cruise control, but it doesn't happen as frequently. About once or twice a month, my cruise control will go inoperative when I activate it (worst on very cold days). Turning off the car and opening the door will make it functional again.

Is it possible it's a wheel bearing with the integrated magnetic strip going out making the ABS sensors go nuts for a split second? My rear right bearing does make some noise on very cold days (under -20C ) and I plan on changing it soon.

No check engine lights and I plugged in my Autel scanner and no faults are being shown. Has anyone delt with this problem before?

Thanks for the help.

Tires are at 80% tread remaining. The alignment was done last year or so, so I think it's fine.

According to my VIN spreadsheet, I don't have that option.

For me (granted in my E and GLS) that was a symptom of a low accessory battery.

It did happen a couple of times while not using the cruise control, but very rare. When using the cruise control, it will happen every 10 minutes or so.

Both batteries (main and aux) were changed at 295 000km. That was about 2 years ago.

I see, I am not sure if I missed it but you used a scanner that can scan MB related codes and nothing was stored? A scanner such as iCarsoft MB or Launch CReader MB.
