Wondering if any 250k, 300k, or even higher mileage W166's exist and if you could give some details about your vehicle and what major stuff had to be replaced.

Had 250,000km on my old 500. Did cam adjusters , turbo cooler lines ,air springs and shocks, wheel bearings, CV joints and all the general wear and tear items. Was still a great car when I sold it and going strong with no issues.

MB’s of all kinds.
Wife has 90,000 miles on her ML. I have seen some for sale online and I am sure there are some on forums.

2013 ML350 BlueTEC here sitting at 365 000 km. I think that's around 230 000 miles.

Here's my maintenance sheet:

What prompted you to replace the rear shocks or springs? Mines is a non airmatic car so steel springs, and the ride quality in the back is getting pretty bad. Im not sure if it's a shock issue though as the dealer said they looked fine. What symptom did you have making you replace it?

Steel springs here as well. One of the rear shocks was leaking. For my front springs, one of them broke. I was driving one day and heard a very loud thonk. When I inspected the front suspension, I noticed the passenger side spring was broken.

Also my ML has 97k miles and its on its original rotors. Is that really bad? The car still has decent stopping power.

I am at 131k and very disappointed at the reliability. My cars with high mileage been Subaru Outback 230k, Honda Ridgeline at 262k, Infiniti G37 at 175k. None of them had so many issues as ML350.

Things trying to figure out now, camshaft position sensors replaced (not big deal but still). Camshaft adjuster or chain tensioner or something else. Just noticed that coolant is leaking and have to add coolant every week (can't find leak yet). Engine mounts probably bad (none of my Japanese cars needed mounts this early). Need to replace lower control arms (none of my Japanese cars needed them even at 220k).

But wife really likes how ML350s look and that is one of the most reliable German models out there

Coolant is probably coming from the radiator or surrounding region. If your in hotter climates your lucky if you haven't had to replace the cooling system yet as these cars have plastic bits that melt and crack easily. I got my hoses and radiator fixed a couple months ago for around $1200 at the dealer, so an independent will be much cheaper. I had the dealer do camshaft sensors for preventative reasons. My engine mounts went bad a long time ago, around 30k miles ago. I've been driving it ever since, haven't really cared to get it fixed nor the transmission mount, but that one is likely fine. I don't think the mounts are going to make a big difference. These cars aren't going to leave you stranded, there's just certain weak points that need to be addressed. The W166 is way superior to the newer benzes as those have way more reliability concerns and the fit and finish is nothing to the W166.

Thanks for the information. I am fixing everything myself so repairs definitely will be much cheaper, I'll just have to do the troubleshooting and figuring out what exaclty needs to be replaced as well. I am planning to keep the vehicle for awhile, so mileage will go up and had the vehicle only for a year with some of those problems already on it before I purchased it. The coolant leak seems to be new issue oh and battery just died today But i ordered some tools and maybe later will order more to find the leak.
