How Can I Update the GPS/NAV Maps in Comand?
My local area maps are old and out of date. I read somewhere that said you could download updated maps from browser/PC online to USB and upload to car that way. I went and created a Mercedes Me account but I can't find anything on the website about maps. I get my GPS service from SiriusXM. Are there any ways to update maps (preferrably via USB?)?

The GPS signal is a free unbranded service.
Live traffic data is sold by SiriusXm satellite.
Map data is from another 3rd party company.

Thanks for that info. So can you recommend a third party company to get updated maps and will I be able to upload them to my 2015 ML350 via USB?

For most of MB owners, downloading the DLM software, choosing the right Map version, writing the USB stick and receiving the Activation Code for free - from me - may not be the easiest way but at least is free.

Maybe you missed the part regarding the "free " activation as this is not available for newbies.
You can start adding your contribution here, this way beside helping others you will gain access to private messages and some other free stuff,
The needed "info" is the one you already quoted.

I'm aware of how forums work and posts help, and I do plan to contribute, but there's not a lot I can, when I know almost nothing about the vehicle I just bought... This topic isn't the reason I joined, and that comment wasn't my first on the forum.
Gate keeping the ability to use the maps because I haven't owned the vehicle long enough is a weird flex, but sure I can keep using my phone until I've bumped enough threads I guess...
Actually the info would be where to get the correct DLM now, as there's lots of people discussing which one and dead Links on the Mercedes website, with no clear info and obviously the activation key. DMs would also help keep the thread cleaner.

If you just bought a 2014 ML350 (congrats) and are not familiar with the vehicle, I'm guessing you will be posting and commenting a LOT in this forum very soon. I'm still discovering new features and figuring things out after all these years. Maps are probably not your top priority. This forum has been invaluable to me and I'm sure it will be for you. You are going to get a lot of great FREE tips and advice here that will save you a lot of time and a lot of money. Trigital is offering help I was unable to find anywhere else, without spending a lot of money. It is understandable that he wants to help people who have proven they are legit and trustworthy members of this community, and that is his right. Be patient, you'll get there!
As dumb as it may seem, maps are actually at the top of my list right now. It's obviously not a dire situation, just maps, but I purchased the ml for business use, I found one that was basically ready for work, with the exception of a brake controller (tekonsha p3 is now installed) and resetting the service indicator (another thread started) finding safe ways to use the navigation to get me around the city for the day was my next priority.
Yesterday being the first day of work with it. I did find a few minor issues, I have to go looking into these rain sensing wipers, as the sensor seems not to be doing anything.
