Is it in Limp Mode?

I have an 06 CL600, 42k miles and the left bank went out. Replaced it and plugs knowing the right bank will be shortly(so I thought). Did the work, drove it, ran like a raped ape for 2 pulls, then right bank went out. Replaced right bank and those plugs. During right bank replacement, I broke the damn nipple on the MAP sensor attached to the passenger side I/C, so chased one down at Autozone and put it on today. Car started perfectly, purrs like a kitten, definitely is not pulling hard. After 3k RPMs feels like a V6. I think perhaps the MAP sensor isn't up to par so I ordered the MB part which will be here Tuesday. I pulled codes and nothing at all, feels like it's pulling timing/boost. Any thoughts?

There could be many reasons for limp mode. I would wait to see if the replacement MAP sensor solves the problem. MAP sensor either not working or you have a boost leak. It could also be an IC pump going bad or ...

I/C pump was replaced prior to this, in the last few weeks. Verified mass movement of coolant as well. Has to be something electrical or boost leak, but doesn't feel like a leak, going to chase down more on Tuesday, just wanted to see anyone else's ideas

Had the same thing happen to me....
You must use a genuine MB replacement MAP sensor.

Greaytalon2000 is right. There are four MAP sensors on your car. The two in the air boxes are the same as your autozone sensor, they only read vacuum. The sensor that goes to the intercooler and the one in the intake read vacuum and boost.

Right now the sensor you put in is telling your computer you are making about 15#'s of boost at idle. As soon as you actually start making boost the computer will think you are over boosting and dump it. I garuntee that if you hook up a mechanical boost gauge right now you will only see about 2-3#'s of boost at WOT. The car will run perfect, it will just be slow.

You can confirm this by hooking up a STAR and reading real time sensor data for the MAP sensor you put in, or just got to Mercedes and get the right one, put it in and you will be smiling the next time you drive your car.

Guess how I know all of this.....

So everything you guys stated was correct!

I put the new MB sensor in yesterday and drove it to work this morning. interestingly though, this morning it was still a dog, I guess it needed to get reacquainted with the correct sensor because I was super depressed as it didn't appear to have changed anything. However, when I got in after work it was a totally different story! It is running like a champ now and man does it feel good to be back into the boost!

Thanks for all the replies and advice!
