According to "The Source" magazine, November 2002 issue. This is a hip-hop magazine. They state that only 80 of the 320 Mercedes dealers in the US can place orders. Orders take a $50k deposit which is placed in a interest bearing account for the depositor.
Hip Hop moguls P-Diddy, Jay-Z and Russell Simmon's (Def Jam) "trophy wife" have placed orders.

Just MHO, but...
...I wouldn't take my directions on the proper pronounciation of anything from The Source, Hip-Hop, Oakland, etc.
For example,
"Cadillac Excalade?"
"Yo Yo Yo Muddafuhcah, yous violatin mah constipational raghts"

I am estimating that it will be 8 months until we see Maybach's in every rap music video on television.
It is pronounced exactly how it is spelled, Maybach. Not this "maibach" junk. It has been pronounced Maybach for 50 years, no rapper can change that.
