everyone keeps comming up with excuses WHY Ferrari got pole e.g. light on fuel, tyres only work good for a few laps etc.

Well keep in mind that Ferrari thinks about the race pace not POLE..and everyone out there had to do about 10 laps so we know for sure they have more fuel then trulli had at the USGP last year. Also, Ferrari tested there about 2 weeks ago and im sure they got alot of data and went back to Maranello and got an aero for the first 2 races. AND to top it off, have you guys seen the new aero on the Ferrari ? it looks brilliant! The difuser is suppose to be wicked --make up for alot down force that was lost due to 2005 regulations AND at high speeds its suppose to -undo itself ( downforce for diffuser) so they can get that extra top speed... im telling you Ferrari is going to take the cake tis year ! woot!!

I was so happy when Ferrari got 1-2 and MS pole.... i was claping and i woke up everyone in the house...they all came to the living room asking me if i was drunk and if just got home... haha

And you're basing this on...??? Considering Honda and Toyota combined have as many race wins as Team Super Aguri, yours is a pretty baseless statement.

The test that Ferrari, Renault and whoever the third team was (honda i think) did at Bahrain a few weeks ago was pretty useless. Alonso even admitted it. The track was dirty as hell and the ambient/track temperatures were +/- 30 deg. lower than they are there this weekend. I highly doubt Ferrari's pace has much to do with that test at all.

That's funny. To look at MS's face, one might think Ferrari was interested ONLY in getting the pole he needed to tie Senna. Ferrari couldn't worry about getting a pole last year, since they had such a crappy car most of the time and pole was usually out of reach. But in previous years, it was all pole, imo.

The commentators said the Ferraris had to be light on fuel to make the time they did. That means a pole focus. We'll see who comes in first for fuel tomorrow. I bet on Ferrari pitting on or about the same lap as the Renaults. Montoya and Raikkonen will go 10 laps further. Now that's race focus.

New season... time to set that alarm for 4:45am. whoa.

Damn right, time to put last year's fluke behind us and see Ferrari dominating like they should be.

Anyone going to the US race this year?

MB-Bob as longest they pit when the renualts do thats good imo. Since they are the ones to beat. ML is all the way so Kimi is going to have it to the to the top. To me it seem like MS wasent expecting pole. Oh well lets just sit and wait !

What did I tell ya? MS pitted first, followed the lap later by the Reanults... Raikkonen went well past half distance.... and finished 23 secs behind in Thrid place. This will have the entire grid shaking in their boots throughout the rest of the season.

Time will tell if the McLaren stays under him reliably. If it does, no contest..

Yea, in the race I watched the concensus was that MS was on a three stop strategy... Massa was to take second and slow the field while MS rocketed away to build a lead -- since he was light on fuel, and all. A three stop strategy confirmed he was light in qualifying.

After Massa's failure to hold back Alonso, a 3 stopper would not work, so MS came in on lap 11 (as scheduled, not early at all) and they put in more fuel, to make the second stint longer, and turn it into a two stopper. No brainer, really.

it depends.. it can go either way, if kimi's car fails again then alonso or schumacher will take it... very close between them.. if all goes well with the mclaren's.. we'll see kimi on the top of the podium.. its all gonna be about luck this season
