It would be even more interesting to see a lap time comparison from some of the tracks they share.

Complete ownage, puts things in perspective. I guess it is explained by the huge difference in braking and cornering force... and those advantages are all gained by downforce.

I wouldn't call it complete ownage. Takes a lot of ballz to run that 1.42 lap in MotoGP. No need to diss it just to compare vs. F1.

1991 300sl 5 speed manual
I wonder what the max Latteral gs are with out downforce is... I have a friend with a Fiat x-19 race car that pulls 1.6 gs in Auto Cross and he goes no faster than 35 miles an hour threw the corners.. Not much down force at that speed.. I just wonder what is the percentage at 180mph versous what its set up for.. JJ

Monaco has a bunch of low downforce corners where its all about mechanical grip, and its still plenty fast...

Yeah, those MotoGP guys have ***** of steel to toss those things around at speed in a pack of 4 trading the lead every corner. But I think that in this numbers comparison the F1 car doesn't look as supperior to the other things, but there's complete ownage on the track. Nothing is as fast as an F1 racer around a track, by far.

It'll be nice to pull this comparison up the next time someone starts making a big thing out of a 0.1s advantage 0-60.
