USGP Thread

First off, congratilations to our very own McLaren Mercedes for a front row preformance.

My story lines:

-The first turn: Will Donkey and Bonkey touch?
-Can Alonso keep his head and not drive like the idiot he was in Canada?
-Will Kimi wake up?

I think Donkey is going for a classic strategy win... he's got faster pace than Bonkey but heavier fuel load, so he should be able to put in more/quicker inlaps for the pass.

EIDT: Looks like Ron Dennis had other plans... I think he gave the "order" right after Alonso almost got Ham on the straight, and then Alonso approached the pit wall in protest. He must have been fuming.

All that I care about is two Benz drivers on the podium.

Be it Hamilton or Alonso, a win is a win!

Agreed. The great thing is that America was supposed to be Ferrari's advantage.

I thought for sure Alonso could have pulled off the pass.

Like every one else, I'm glad we have an MB double podium.

I wish Weber would have made that pass stick on Trulli.

So, who watch ALL of the coverage?

I got about 95% off it in. I'm glad they did that.

I thought the 3-hour Speed coverage (aired Thurs./midnight) with all the driver interviews was fantastic....except that Derek Daly DB....they even had Sam Posey for the discussion.

On a side note.....I think this will be Ralf's last year.

No kidding. I've heard rumors that he'll be shown the door before France.

That was a great race for M-B. LW is one hell of a driver, able to deal with Alanso's challenge on the first corner and the attempted pass mid way through the race.

I'd just like to see more competition up front. The performance of the tires & aerodymanics are so knife edge. Fernando was only able to challenge for a few laps during the entire race. I was hoping to see some back & forth passing between the M-B boys but it wasn't to be.

No real racing between Kimi & Masa either. All the action was going on back in the pack, where there were some great wheel to wheel battles.

Absolutely ditto, MiamiE55 and HMan!
'Nuf said.

I think the order that is current in both the Constructor's as well as the Driver's will likely be the order the final standing will be. We'll see....>>>

$51m a year buys a pretty inexhaustible supply of Cristal. Even Kimi could buy enough to forget the podium.

Yes, indeedy, lars. That is what (unfortunately) Kimi will be doing.

And, yes, the second (?) highest paid dude, Ralph S, will probably be history very soon. Cannot deliver for whatever reason(s). He does have an absolutely drop dead gorgeous wife, so life's not too bad for him at the end of the day.

Oh gawd, a USGP in Vegas! I guess they would do it on the LV Speedway. However, I would much prefer that it be on a street course. Run that F-ker thru LV Blvd. That would be AWESOME! I figure that they would also have to change the time of year too. Say early or late season.

I saw MB World F1 Fan party if it is so. Who is springing for the Suite?
