What a mess of a race. Only about 1/3 of the cars finished the race. After watching though, I think banning traction control was a great thing. Minor mistakes now make a difference and I think it puts much more emphasis on driver skill. The SL63 made a couple of appearances and it looks fantastic!

More importantly, it sounds fantastic
To me, it sounded more awesome zooming by than the F1 cars 
Every Ferrari powered car failed to finish. Too bad... not.
It will be interesting to see what happend to HK's McLaren though. That was really odd on the last lap.

Hi Guys
Really thrilled to have had the opportunity to be at the track in Melbourne to watch Ham grab the first race of the year. As you all know I am a die hard MB fan and to see Ham walking away from the field with Kovalainen on pace till the pitstops, was a joy to behold.
Champ Car export Sebastian Bourdais looked good to pick up five points in his F1 debut until 5 laps from the end when his Ferrari engine'd Red Bull detonated.
Ferrari themselves came away with no points at all which pleases me no end after last years Stepney-gate saga. That'll teach 'em!!!!
Temperature was WAY HOT. Racers in the Aussie V8's were measuring 65C (150F) in the cockpit! Yikes! How do the F1 guys do it without a coolsuit? I used one in my Spec Miata in last weeks SCCA at VIR and that was in 40F weather!!!
All in all a great experience - great circuit, and the amazing thing is that despite 300,000 fans, the grounds were kept absolutely spotless at all times by the ground staff (Cleanevent) who sponsored the Carrerra GT3 Cup Car event.
Can highly reccommend this event to anyone.
