Question 2002 C230 Coupe Stalling - has a few error codes

My C230 is stalling out often. I can be driving on the interstate going 70 and it will lose power and stall. This happens when I am at slow speeds and stopped as well. The stalling tends to be worse when it is hot. Does this sound like a fuel pump issue or could it be a relay? Or something else? Any help is greatly appreciated!
UPDATE! I replaced the fuel pump relay today and no luck. The car is still stalling and it is getting dangerous to drive. Does this sound like the fuel pump going?

Sounds to me like a CPS.

I had my car hooked up to a hand held code reader today and it showed the following codes........

P0500 - Speed Sensor A (makes sense since my speedometer is not working)

P0600 - Serial Communication Link Malfunction

P0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire

Do these codes shed any light as to why my car is stalling?

Thanks again!

Is the CPS easy to get to and replace? I would prefer to change it myself instead of taking it to the dealer. Thank you all again for your help and advice! Sherri

Why not have the car diagnosed and be certain you are correcting the problem before you go throwing parts at it. Guys have changed their own CPS but I have not and if I had the problem I would let the dealer do it.

I would love nothing more than to be able to take my car to the dealer but I can not do so at this time. Thanks to a tick bite I have lyme disease (only took the doctors 11 years to figure this out) and the cost of medicine is really high. We have health insurance but they only covered a 30 day supply of meds. I pay $978 a month for medicine. I should be off the meds in January and then I plan to take my car in for some much needed TLC. Until then I have to be my own mechanic but that is ok because I am finally feeling healthy again! I did call the dealer and gave them my error codes. They said the P0600 code indicated that I need to have the CPS replaced.

Thank you to all that helped us on this issue. It was the CPS. My hubby put the new one in and my car is running great again. I am elated! Thanks

if it isnt fixed-

ihave yet to see a ckp cause the 4 cylinder engine to stall- v6 v8 qll the time- your likely cause is the k40 relay .seeen many times associated fault codes will be misfires, injector faults, all receiving signals through k40 relay

c230 kompressor
What is a CPS? I have the same issue, but only when the car has been sitting for a couple of hours or overnight regardless of the temp (cold or hot).
