Federal 10 x 40W 100% synthetic oil

I got it for free. Does anybody know about its performance compared with a equivalent Pennzoil or even a Mobil 1 5 x 50W .
It is for my 2002 Slk32AMG . 15,000miles.
Thank you in advance

From which FEDERAL agency did you get it for free?

PS
This provision must be in the small print of the new tax refund legislation:

Free oil for the FEDS!!

Karl,
I do not live in USA so do not ask me how. Please consider "almost for free" instead.
Repeat:
Does anybody know about 100% synthetic Federal 10x40W?
Thank you

If by "Federal" you mean US Government. That oil could be from any number of suppliers to the Govt. If it is in a container with SAE numbers etc, it is for use in motor vehicles, and most likely, fine for your application. If not, it could be lube for any number of applications.

Federal is a registered trade mark only, I guess. Could it be?

well, do you have the info from the label? If so post it here. There is a Federal Oil Company. (federaloil.com)

Marviz -
FEDERAL synthetic oil does not sell retail in the US. I've never heard of it, - been using Mobil 1 for over 20 years.

At any rate, 10x40w is not 5x50w.
