Really miss this feature from my previous car. Has anyone tried to add this on? Is it even possible?

corgiman,

Curious. With this option, I know there is a button inside the trunk lid to close withot slamming but is there also a way to close the trunk from the driver's seat?

Also, don't quite understand why this option is not standard!

I had this on my CL and yes you can close the trunk from inside the car. It works like the auto up/down feature (sort of) on the windows.

If you close it from inside the car, you have to hold the button to close it, If you press it a few secs, then let go its just going to stop, it wont go back up or anything, just stop.

i wouldn't mind retrofitting this in my c class from the clk. need to look into it now. I have too many other retrofits pending at the moment though

Do you think the trunk closer can be retrofitted?

anything can be done but you have to do lots of research. May have to order a EPC (electronic parts catalog) and there are rarely people that can help in this department of retrofitting. I don' t have the trunk closer on my agenda till I finish my parktronic, cooled seats.

Will you be posting details concerning the e class?

Let me open the WIS and check this out. It's fairly easy on the CLk since it's a electric motor and same should be with the E sedan. The E wagon and all S classes have a hydraulic system due to the weight of the lid.
